This was a really cool performance in a great sounding room. Loved our seats!
This is the third time I have seen Gillian and Dave and they just keep getting better and better. It amazes me how much music they get out of two guitars and vocals. The sound fuller and more compelling than bands with double the instrumentation. It was the most animated I have seen Dave so that was a nice addition to their performance and his guitar playing reaches new heights each time I have seen them. Always tasteful, always inspiring and sometimes unexpected. Gillian's voice continues to amaze me as do the original songs they perform. When they do play a cover it is always within the feel of their set list and they take into account the mood of the crowd. Their choice of "Tennessee Stud" and "Jackson" as two of their covers was just what the crowd needed. They are a must see duo anytime they come to Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky.
They are the absolutely the masters of instrumental and vocal harmony. I have never seen any show any better than this.
Fantastically talented, beautiful music, entertaining banter. One of the best shows I've been to.
Beautiful venue. Great acoustics. Hope to see Gillian Welch return in 2019.
I’m a music junkie. Travel for concerts. Gillian Welsh is one to reckon with! Stage presence, talent and beauty without exception.
David and Gillian are amazing. The steifel is a great place to see any show. But really shines at Acoustic singer songwriters. Outside of the couple drunk ladies behind us. It was easily one of the best shows I’ve seen.
They sing so perfectly together, it's almost like one voice. Part of you just wants to close your eyes and listen to this sweet, beautiful music but you know you can't, because you'd miss watching Dave Rawlings playing that 1935 Epiphone like a crazy person. Watching him playing is like watching a pitcher going into a full wind-up. It's like the harder he pushes it, the faster and sweeter it sounds. I know if I die and I hear their music, I'm going to a good place because heaven is where it belongs, or wherever the next good place may be. Gillian is not only an amazing performer and writer, she's funny as hell in her dry, unassuming way. I've seen them many, many time before, but this made 3 times now at the Majestic. And the most wonderful thing about it? People shut the f*ck up and listen. Everybody is there to see Gillian and Dave, and aside from the occasional overly enthusiastic fan, they're shown a reverence you rarely see at a live event anymore. So all in all, my wife and I were pretty damn happy.
Just Gillian David and their guitars on a bare stage. Crowd enthralled for 2 hours Beautiful stuff
