Widely considered a feminist icon, Grammy winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, being one of the first artists to create her own record label in 1990. While she has been known as the "Little Folksinger," her music has embraced punk, funk, hip hop, jazz, soul, electronica and even more distant sounds. Her collaborators have included everyone from Utah Phillips to legendary R&B saxophonist Maceo Parker to Prince. Her memoir No Walls and the Recurring Dream was a New York Times Top 10 best seller in 2019, and her debut children's book The Knowing is out now. DiFranco recently completed a 5-month run on Broadway as 'Persephone' in the Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical, Hadestown. Her 23rd album Unprecedented Sh!t is out now, and a second children's book Show Up and Vote was released in August of 2024.
Great mix of songs. Seemless 90 min set with her spectacular guitar skills and fun vibe. One of the best!
She’s my favorite artist to see live! Always the best time!
Thoroughly enjoyed the concert, great song choices, great mixing, great crowd, excellent time. Experiencing Ani Difranco is always a great experience.
This was my second time to see Ani DiFranco, and she was on fire! The only thing I might have wanted different would be to have Kristen Ford sing a couple more songs as the opening act. The venue was superb. This was my first time at the Blue Note, but it won’t be my last. Anytime Ani returns there I will be there, as well as for any other bands that I want to see in what is one of the best venues I’ve been to.
25th Anniversary of Little Plastic Castle and Ani still breaks guitar strings and fills all with Joy!
First time seeing Ani in about 20 years, had a great time seeing some of the newer songs played live (as a 3 piece) along with a handful of classics. The openers (Peter Mulvey & SistaStrings) did a wonderful job with their own sets, collaborating with each other, and contributing to an epic performance late in Ani's set. The venue (Embassy Theatre/Ft. Wayne) was very nice. clean, nice acoustics, friendly staff, and reasonable drink prices. Can't ask for much more. All in all it would have been a perfect experience if not for Ticketmaster's usual price gouging.
Great concert in an intimate venue. The only suggestion is to skip the VIP as it is not worth the money given that seating is not guaranteed and that section is located at the very back of the venue; general admission will get you really closer to the artist.
She was Greta as always. 930 is my favorite venue and is as great today as it was the first time I went on 1997.
Got right up front and sobbed when she played Both Hands and 32 Flavors. Great show.
We are grateful for Ani visiting our town. She is powerful and caring and important. The lighting wasn't on the drummer which was odd.
