Cody Ray Slaughter & the Kats offer an earnest and heartfelt tribute to Elvis Presley, even if their modest set-up would have been better suited for a smaller performance space. That said, the all ages audience seemed to enjoy the set, heavy on up-tempo rockabilly numbers with a few ballads thrown in for balance. Slaughter does a good Presley, and the band supported him ably, but the show suffers from a halting stop-and-go setlist with too much time allowed for pointless costume changes (they're supposed to reflect the progress of Elvis's career, but since the show isn't strictly narrative in organization, the costume changes are largely superfluous).
Oh my gosh I felt like I was watching young Elvis!! He was great looked and sounded like Elvis, was very humble. He talked about him. Cody Ray stayed and signed autographs and took pictures with everyone that stayed to do so. All in all a great show and seemed like a good young man. We're making plans to see him again
If you are an Elvis fan, this show is a must see experience! Cody is an awesome tribute artist. I've seen this show twice and will return again if possible!
I took my grandmother to see this show. She's been having health problems lately and it was great to see her with a smile on her face. We loved this show and Cody is amazing!
Wow! Cody was incredible again ! From where I sat row P you'd have sworn it was Elvis himself, and never getting to see Elvis in concert I feel like I now have! Can't wait for the Cody and Shawn Klush concert in December, Shawn does the 70's Elvis and is equally amazing!
I saw Cody Ray Slaughter perform at the Elvis Festival in Myrtle Beach last night and I could not believe my eyes. I have seen many, many, many tribute artists over the years and none come close to what I witnessed last night. When he walked on stage, you would have thought the real Elvis had just appeared. You will not be disappointed with Cody's performance from the looks, sound, mannerisms and humble nature. I highly recommend his show if you enjoy seeing Elvis' legacy live on ---- this is the guy to go and see.
This guy is stunningly good, i cant put into words the electricity he transmits. From the second he walks (or should i say struts!!) on stage he captivates the entire crowd. He has something of the essence of the great man himself, he performs so effortlessly, if you want a genuine, thoroughly entertaining, hip shaking trip to the sun records/early rca Elvis era that will leave you breathless then look no further, Cody is in the building !!!!
