This had the potential to be a great show. We got there 2 hours before the show to get the best seats right up front. The opening number was terrific. Then, to our great dismay, 'Prince' says: "Let's make this a dance party! All you people way in the back come on up to the stage and dance all night!"From that point on, we saw nothing but the backs of people, even when we were standing up. This kind of thing might work in a venue where the stage is 8-10 feet off the ground, but this venue only had a 4 foot high stage. So no, Marshall, we didn't get to appreciate your wonderful costumes, choreography, or musicianship. All we saw was the top of your head, except when you were at the piano, when we saw nothing. It was a bummer. We bought tickets to see a concert, not to be at a dance club among people pushing & shoving. We had to stand the entire time, and still couldn't see anything. I even suspect this venue had rules due to the seating & stage set-up, but 'Prince' chose to ignore them. (The security people looked frustrated, as was I.) Those rules were there for a reason, so everyone can enjoy the show. It was too bad - I could tell this band was phenomenally talented, but couldn't truly appreciate 'The Xperience'. Please consider your audience and venue before trying to make your concert into a dance party.
