Titanic Exhibition was Lilliputian
by camapa233 on 4/18/12Premier Exhibiton Center at Atlantic Station - AtlantaWhat is it about traveling exhibits which come to Atlanta that they are small in size and disappointing in scope? The King Tut exhibit didn't even have one of the 14 sarcophagi to show us. And now the Titanic exhibit which had maybe 200 items on display, and that's counting 2 cuff links and 4 shirt studs as a total of 6. Las Vegas had a much larger event. Other cities have had much larger Titanic events. Not so Atlanta? The reconstruction of the First Class suite was laughably not first class. A wall, and some furniture dropped in to take up space? Cheap and tawdry. Not at all representative of the choicest rooms on the ship. The posters on the walls were informative, but sadly, they were a very major part of the exhibit. The young people who were guides and hosts were well-trained and did good jobs. The best piece of the exhibit was the model of the bow of the ship as it lays on the floor of the Atlantic. Exhibitors have gotten me twice with these "major" events coming to Atlanta. They won't get me the third time because they have "fooled me twice." Shoot, even the offerings in the gift shop were underwhelming.
