Verb Ballets’ performance of Romeo and Juliet was beautiful. The live music also beautiful. I enjoyed it so much!
The entire production was so wonderful. It was truly a beautiful experience. I only give it 4 stars because it was a little on the expensive side for me, but it was definitely worth it. I would get the tickets again if I had to. You can tell they are professional dancers.
Ukraine Ballet Theatre of Odessa: Romeo and Juliet Elegant exceptionally professional flowing artform on stage. Captivating costumes. Simply understated, yet wonderful backdrops that set the milieu. Would love to see the Ukraine Ballet Theatre of Odessa in motion again.
This experience was unique, astonishing and truly brought a beautiful performance to the table. However, there was one thing. A reoccurring theme I noticed throughout the show was that the performers often were acting and using facial expressions more than actually dancing. There were many opportunities to include choreography to tell the story that were not used. All though the dancers were brilliant and captivating dancing could’ve been incorporated more in this experience.
Everyone certainly knows this story but when a ballet you know can still make you cry at the end its fabulous
This was my first balet show. I wasnt sure what to expect. I thought the story line was ok but then again its not a play its a balet. As far as the dancing i was expecting a bit more of choreo. I got a bit bored for the first couple of scences but the second half of the show was better. The sound of the hall is ok, to be honest the harkins movie theater has better sounds than this hall. Over all its an ok show. Dont expect enything grand like a broadway show or anything in those lines. This was more of a minor leage show so to speak.
Juliet's performance was brilliant. I also like the fact that they use excellent backup dancers.
The lead dancers were amazing, and I especially liked the Japanese Romeo! All the dancers had really great facial expressions, which easily led the audiences into the story.
I was not happy with this performance. There was no orchestra and the music was taped. Also had a hard time with Romeo being Japanese. Did not stay for the whole show.
Great choreography throughout performance but venue's sound effects and audio system were average at best.. Static heard throughout play in amphitheater speakers.
