Shrek The Musical Tickets

A few of the actors were compelling but the show overall simply was nowhere near as good as expected. The actress playing the main lady was very good and the ogre and donkey were pretty good but the show was not anywhere near as fun, funny, or engaging as expected when I purchased the tickets. Also, the production value did not seem anywhere close to a Broadway play and we were left very disappointed. This show will make me less likely to attend similar productions offered going forward.

Was very excited to take my daughter to Shrek the Musical at Capital One Hall (Tysons). It is a show we are familiar with and enjoy the Broadway soundtrack. The show at Capital One Hall was ok - the cast was talented and the staging was good. Here’s where it failed: the sound system and acoustics at the venue. All of the actors sounded garbled and somewhat muted. Some mics weren’t working properly at all (Mama Bear had zero sound coming from her mic at the beginning of the show). It is incredibly unfortunate because this show has some musical numbers where the harmonies are incredible - and they completely fell flat. Again, not due to the talented cast - but wholly due to the failure of the sound in the theatre. Sadly, this reminded me of seeing a talented community theatre cast (with cheap mics), not a Broadway tour. Also sadly, this is the second show I have seen at this venue and I was sorry to see the same exact problems (Tootsie was the last show). Unfortunately, this means it will be my last show at Capital One Hall. I’m not paying Broadway ticket prices for a novice theatre experience.

Great show. Very cleverly adapted to a musical with a wonderful cast and overall production. It was my first time to the Capital One Hall which is a great venue, very seat appeared to have good views. The only negative, I should have brought a blanket because it was a little chilly.

Loved the actors, the costumes, the music, and the set! Audio techs had a little trouble with unmuting the right microphones at the right times, but the actors did well to throw their voices to our balcony 2 seats. The theatre venue itself is lovely, and the concession treats were surprisingly varied. The staff was lovely, and the parking garage was easy to get into and out of. (Had some trouble finding the venue once we left the garage because the streets are all similarly named, but we did find some signage that got us where we needed to be!)

The cast for Shrek the Musical was outstanding from acting performance, dancing and singing. We especially loved the Lady Dragon and Donkey. However, the production left a lot to be desired. Sound engineers and stage hands struggled to keep up, resulting in muted or muffled voices throughout the performance. The music also sounded as if it was blasted thru a boombox instead of a musical theater. Regardless of these technical issues, the brilliant cast made up for it and we had a lot of fun.

I had a fantastic time. I spent it with my lovely wife. Great show. The only downside was the seats were very uncomfortable. The performance was awesome.

Amusing, enjoyable, entertaining. Daughter and Girlfriend laughed, smiled and cried.

great show! cast and costumes were terrific! we really enjoyed the show.

Very talented group and the performance was excellent. I think the Donkey was my favorite though Shrek and Fiona were both very good. I am not a fan of the venue but continue to go when great shows are offered.
