He called it band in a box because he didn’t have to pay for a drummer ; ) So good ! Hasn’t lost a step, his voice, guitar and keyboard work are spot on Plays virtually every song you could possibly want to hear !
Midge Ure brought the 80’s back on Friday night. Hearing all those amazing tunes live was phenomenal and he sounds as great as ever! I loved how he told a story about each song before he performed it. My 19 year old son grew up listening to Midge because of me so it was his first time seeing him live and he just loved it! Midge Ure is an amazing musician and vocalist! Awesome show indeed!
I am always nervous to attend reunion tours but The Midge Ure - Band in a Box was one of the best shows i saw this year! His voice is impeccable, performed most of the hits of his career and his story telling is so captivating! Highly recommend!
Midge Ure put on a superb show. It was an excellent selection of songs from ULTRAVOX, Solo and other surprises. So many great songs and his voice is in top form. His storytelling was also very interesting. Overall a very entertaining show.
This was a fantastic show. I have literally waited 44 years to see Midge Ure and he definitely did not disappoint. He sang all the hits from Ultravox all the hits from his solo career, and he was personable and told little stories about each song before he played them. He has always been my favorite musician and finally getting to see him in person let me check one off my bucket list.
What a great show. Did not expect that at all. His voice at 70 is crazy. Literally, his voice sounded like he was playing a CD from 40 years ago. I looked to see if he was still in the area. I definitely would see him again. sounded great and he added insight to some of the songs. That being said, the encore was really bad. I know that first song was important to him, and I am sorry if this is disrespectful, but it really killed the buzz. Then the second song was just not good. So, take off at the break. Great show. He was amazing. If you were in doubt, go.
Ultravox song set by 2 talented musicians and Midge Ure stills has his great voice. Highly recommended even if you don't know Ultravox, I took a friend who didn't know the music and she fell in love with Midge Ure
Ultravox/ Visage lead singer Midge Ure rock the APEX Art and Culture Center with all hits from Ultravox and his solo album plus meets and signings of cds, album plus pix with Midge Ure.
Midge Ure is like a massive powerhouse erupting in a small concert venue like the Culture Room. He's taken a stadium-sized show and condensed it into a nightclub setting. I was expecting a more toned-down event, but was pleasantly surprised with the larger-than-life performance that Midge gave the small crowd. His band Ultravox was a stadium caliber group performing all over Europe and other countries, but never achieving success in the US. It's a shame, they were an amazing band. Midge came out and did an early Ultravox song, "Passing Strangers" to start the show off with a big bang. His band, who he shared with Paul Young, was very tight, doing an excellent job with the material. Midge even threw in the classic Visage song "Fade to Gray" (which he wrote). He performed it somewhat tongue-in-check, but the crowd loved it. The last four songs were a musical assault that kept getting stronger as it went on. "Vienna", "All Stood Still", "Hymn" and "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes"; some of the most dynamic Ultravox songs performed perfectly. Midge did an excellent job throughout. He really seemed to be enjoying himself. He wasn't just going through the motions. Midge put his heart and soul into everything he did, and proved that he was an outstanding guitar player too. An excellent show!
