I’ve attended every LOTR concert in NYC and fans have consistently interrupted the orchestra. Yelling at inappropriate times throughout each performance. I wish these shows came with a disclaimer prior to the show to be considerate of not just the performers but of those around them. Makes no sense to drown out the music because people can’t control themselves.
The show was spectacular, the orchestra and the choir brought life to the film and the audience participation made the watching the film a fun filled experience
First time seeing the symphony and it was excellent. It added a different element watching the movie and listening to the music and singing. Definitely would go again.
Amazing experience! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because I feel that the venue could turn up the volume of the live orchestra (not the movie sound) a bit. Otherwise, excellent and I do recommend it!
I attended the first movie “The Fellowship of the Ring” a year ago and loved it so much I had to come back for the second one. I’m a huge Lord of the Rings fan and I love how everyone comes together to watch these movies with live orchestra. The energy at these events is incredible. I get goosebumps every time and I will definitely come back in a year to watch The Return of the King.
This was one of the best nights of my life. Make sure to get there at least 20 min early so you can get through security and find your seats before the show starts! (If you’re late, they’ll close the doors until scene changes) I absolutely adored this experience. There IS audience activity (clapping when new characters come on, or cheering at iconic moments/lines), but I found it to be even more enthralling in the experience, and it was done in a respectful way the night I went (I’ve heard reviews about disrespectful audiences but the night I went I had a great one). There is an intermission, and they don’t show the extended version (sadly). I am a huge LOTR fan and it was so awe-inducing to be in that type of atmosphere with fellow fans and hearing the orchestra live. I cannot recommend this experience enough. I loved loved loved this concert.
I attended Friday's 02/16/24 event and had a blast! Crowd interaction was cool. Orchestra, choir and singer was awesome! Same conductor was back! My only feedback was music to movie sound ratio. Compare to Fellowship last year the movie volume was lower to where the music drowned out a few of the scenes. I can't wait to see Return of the King next year!??
