Not that good
by Candy on 10/21/24Uptown Theater - Kansas CityI enjoyed the movie, but the flashing lights were annoying and blinding at times. I would not recommend this event. The musicians were great, but the venue was uncomfortable.

Love the movie and the live music but the screen was way too small for this event
I was expecting way more for the money I spent on the tickets. The movie with sound was neat, but the lights were not all that. Plus sometimes they blinded me with the yellow lights. The music was ok but I was expecting more. It was basically watching the movie with some light and sound effects.
This is one of my all time favorite movies, so that part did not disappoint. The bands personalities were great, I guess I was just expecting more since it’s a concert. The sound was very low from them the first half and then the second there were times it was a bit too loud and it drowned out the movie. Would have liked it to be more of a “surround sound” with their music. I think that would have made it 5 stars. It was just lacking in the experience area especially for how much I paid for the tickets.
For starters it was my first time at the Palace which is a beautiful venue, combine that with the brilliance of Jim Henson’s the Labyrinth on the big screen, a live band for the musical scenes and an interactive audience, some dressed to the theme… Even as an introvert I was completely engaged and couldn’t be happier with my experience at this show. Ticket prices were fair and souvenirs were affordable.
It goes beyond words to have this experience. Amazing to see this movie I watched and loved as a kid come to life for this event. More movies need to do this. Fantastic!
My SIL and I were really excited for this experience. It was pretty fun to be surrounded by other Labyrinth super fans. The orchestra was actually 6 musicians, so I was a little underwhelmed by that considering I thought it would be many more people performing. The location was good, though the bar service was slow considering there was also a concert going on in the same building. Overall, I would go again, but the marketing team should definitely consider specifying it is a limited orchestra for those who may have high expectations like I did.
The performance was amazing! The musicians tried to get the crowd going even more than they already were, and they were already lively and energetic. My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi was difficult to use in the lower entrance. I couldn't get my tickets to open up, so I had to go back up to the street to try to log back in. The ticket scanner was very nice though. She did try hard to help me.
Watching Labyrinth on the big screen was like being a kid again! The orchestra was an added bonus and made the show feel more real. The Lexington Opera House is always a great place to see a show!
Packed house and really fun!! People dressed up and folks like me sang and quoted lines. 10/10
The band was absolutely phenomenal. Their talent and energy made this an awesome experience! They seemed to love what they were doing made me believe they loved the movie as much as the audience. This was a perfect birthday outing for me and my daughter.
I enjoyed seeing the movie after so many years. The band was great. They really enhanced the movie. People dressed up and that was fun, too. I wish the screen had been bigger for those of us in the balcony.
Great show, great music, well coordinated. One of my favorite venues.
I LOVED IT!! Those kids did an amazing job. I thought the sound in the dialog was too loud, but I was sitting close and near a speaker so that would for sure effect that. But the music arrangements, sound, volume, etc were on point. I love this movie. "As the World Falls Down"is and will always be my favourite song, and hearing the music live with David Bowie's voice brought me to tears. It was beautiful. I am now spoiled, and want to only watch it this way from now on.
I did not realize how much I would love this. The live band was incredible!! I would like to see more shows like this.
Big fan of the movie, but the live music did not add to the experience.
The concept was good, but the band was too loud most of the time, it took away from the movie experience. We saw Fantasia with an live orchestra playing the soundtrack and it worked quite well, but there the music was a character - not so much with Labrynth.
The orchestra and light show was wonderful. It really enhanced the movie experience.
Enjoyable presentation, good film print, very good band, fair light show, fair value.
Loved the live band. They were very personable and professional and turned the movie into a great new experience.
