Arrival: We arrived at 7:30ish. Line to get in, but the weather was nice. Tickets were scanned efficiently.
Lounge: Probably should have guessed the rest of the comfort level from here. The lounge was hot (temperature) This room seems to be in a lower level. How is it hot? However, we got our drinks and headed on up.
Auditorium: Also HOT. My goodness folks, do you hate your audience? Some AC or the use of fans would be good here. Not sure if there is no AC, or the Hall is just being very economical. I wish they would mention this as we dressed for the AC to be on high as most performers like a fair amount of cooling and the rooms can be quite chilly. This was the opposite of that. The outside temperature was about 70, the inside felt more like 78 with no air movement at all.
Story Tellers: I didn't connect with the story tellers and frankly it was a downer of an evening. One very shocking moment was when an employee, somewhere outside of the hall laughed out loud at an inopportune time, just after the speaker had told the story of a very bad event in her life. That was so awful.
Overall: Overall I would be unlikely to go to another Moth event, and I would also be very unlikely to attend an event at the Music Hall Center in Detroit outside of late fall through late winter. Even then I probably would skip it given how uncomfortable it was.
