Venue was beautiful with parking close by. Stairs were a bit of a challenge for 2 people in our party. Overall we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the added bonus of being able to greet orchestra members after the performance.
Had front row seats for the Knoxville Symphony at the Tennessee theater for their Gershwin and Beethoven program. Pianist Natasha Paremski was the soloist for George Gershwin’s Concerto, in F major for piano and orchestra . She was brilliant! The second half of the program was Beethoven’s fifth Symphony, in C Minor. Aram Demirjian Conducted the symphony without the musical score. Amazing!
Made a special effort to schedule my visit from MO when the symphony was playing—it paid off!
Although I grew up in a small town outside of Knoxville, for years now I have been living in the Pacific NW. Now I am able to spend at least half the year back home in TN, and on Friday my husband and I attended the Knoxville Symphony for the first time. It was absolutely delightful! We happily look forward to many more visits in the future. Both the choir and the orchestra were outstanding.
My first symphony. Didn’t know what to expect. Blew me away. Already looking forward to attending again. ??
The KSO and Michael Cavanaugh performing the Music of Elton John were simply amazing! Michael had a great grasp of the of nuances of Elton John's voice and burned up the piano! Hope the KSO has him back to do the Music of Billy Joel soon!
The piano playing and singing by Michael Cavenaugh were out standing. The KSO was special. Great Performance by all.
The music was exciting and the visuals during the planets piece was amazing.
The musicians and performance were great. The sound quality from the stage at the Tennessee Theater was poor. Strong and impactful pieces sounded so far away that they lost their impact. I found myself wishing that it had been amplified. I have tickets for another symphony event next month. I very much hope it will be amplified.
