In certain serendipitous cases, a band’s name perfectly encapsulates their essence, and heavy metal rockers In This Moment are a case in point - the sheer power and immediacy Maria Brink’s vocals make it difficult to be anywhere else. Simultaneously vulnerable and snarling, Brink’s emotional growl is a focal point on 2012’s Blood, the band’s 4th – and most successful – album to date. Singles like “Blood” and “Whore” pulled no punches, landing the album at No. 1 on the Billboard Hard Rock chart and cementing Brink’s place as one of the dominant female voices in alternative metal. After forming in Albany in 2005, the band’s 2007 debut Beautiful Tragedy quickly made them a metal festival staple and the opening act of choice for bands like Megadeth and Rob Zombie. Their 3rd album, 2010’s A Star-Crossed Wasteland, was a crossover success, landing at No. 1 on the Independent Albums chart and spawning a hit with “The Promise”. On Tour in 2013, the band has been blowing ticket buyers away with their thundering live concert, pulling fans into the moment with Brink’s commanding presence.
Over the course of their career, In This Moment have played many famous venues to capacity, like Observatory North Park and House of Blues.
It was my first time seeing them and it was amazing! They put on a very good show!
Great show, such a blast, and killer seats. Love seeing a bigger band in a smaller venue
Have seen them before and enjoyed their performance that time. Not so much on this latest go round. Even in a small venue the stage lights were too dark and so much fog you could not see the band at all. Couldn’t even tell if the lead singer was actually singing or just lip syncing or even if it was actually Maria Brink. We left after first 4 or 5 songs along with many other folks and obviously a bit disappointed.
I met Maria Brink and she was so nice, one thing off my bucket list
second time seeing them this summer. brilliant venue + talent combo. maria……ma’am…… i’ll be forever holding my fists in the air, screaming your name. the guys did not disappoint. shredded inside.
Over use of smog machine. Could not see much of anything. Long pauses between songs. Singer in silhouette most of the time. Not much of a show. Disappointed.
In This Moment puts in one of the best rock shows I have ever witnessed. This was my ninth or tenth time witnessing the greatness. Sound was excellent, Maria’s vocals are insanely incredible, the band crushed it, the theatrics rival any I have seen before, and the video board showing music video clips and images was a terrific addition. I recommend ITM to hard/metal rock fans who want to have your faces rocked off while your eyes witness one of the coolest concerts ever.
In This Moment performed flawlessly! Maria's voice really is that good! She did the crazy scream from The Purge even! Musicians were awesome too! Minus one star because there was SO MUCH FOG!!! It was hard to see the performers but especially Maria. I was disappointed I didnt get to see the queen. The fog was so thick you could smell it and couldnt make out a whole lot at points. It was like every song was the finale lol
I like her music but damn there was SO MUCH SMOKE. She never even showed her face, it could've been some other woman up there for all I know. Ice Nine Kills was amazing.
The band was blacked out, had no idea who was even on stage or if they were actually singing. Could have stayed home and listened on the tunes. Show was good but not like it was 10 years ago.
