Absolutely positively love The Gramercy Theater. There is no doubt in my mind that Gid Street Wine is the greatest band that ever lived...
GSW played to a packed house at Irving Plaza and delivered one of the best shows I've seen. They were tight and crisp. Aaron and Lo shredded on the guitars while Tom, Dan and Jon kept the backdrop rockin. Their were hints of more shows. Lets hope.
For a band who hasn't played out in a decade they sound phenomenal! So many memories, so many songs... it was like stepping into a time warp. The evening started and ended with favorites, original music has never been the same, jazzy, folky, bluegrass rock, can you hear the music? The lack of cigarette smoke all these years later is great too - my lungs thank New York City for enforcing non-smoking venues. God Street Wine, playing in the same venue I saw them in on New Year's Eve over a decade ago was truly an unforgettable experience.
The band is as good as ever! It was amazing to see the guys again. Incredible show, incredible set, please come back!!!
GSW rocked like they had not stopped performing for the last 10 years. They played a lot of their older stuff and less from $1.99 Romances, but still, the jam sessions were sweet. They are geniunely appreciative of their fans and everyone around me seemed to be having a great time. 'we're all goin in to see GSW, don't expect to be home til late...'
