Are seats obsolete these days?
by Baby Boomer on 8/26/24The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre - DetroitFantasia LIVE was in the top 10 of my bucket list so my sister and I attended her Detroit river front concert to celebrate our July 4, birthday. I turned 70 and my sister turned 72. Her warm-up DJ noted that a substantial number in the audience consisted of 30 and 40 something-year-olds with their mothers. The sold out crowd remained in their seats throughout the opening act. As soon as Fantasia hit the stage, they were on their feet, where they remained until the end of the concert. Even if you join in and stand, you are not able to see or enjoy the performer in the flesh. Your only recourse is to look at the monitors or reflections on the roof of the canopy. THERE NEEDS TO BE A DESIGNATED SECTION WHERE SITTING IN ONE’S PURCHASED SEAT IS REQUIRED.
