About
Maxwell is an American singer, songwriter and record producer. Composing music since he was just 17, the Brooklyn native’s discography is a sprawling testament to his musical prowess. At 23, his debut record, 1996’s Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite, earned him a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album and eventually hit double platinum status. Since then, Maxwell has been credited — along with Lauryn Hill, D'Angelo and Erykah Badu — with ushering in the neo-soul movement and its sensibilities into mainstream popular music during the late 1990s. Over the course of his career, Maxwell has won three Grammy Awards, six Soul Train Music Awards and two NAACP Image Awards, in addition to having multiple Billboard Hot 100 and 200 charting tracks. He was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and Congressional Black Caucus in 2019 for "his innovative contributions to the music industry as a singer, songwriter, and producer."

by mastermistro on 9/25/24Hampton Coliseum - HamptonSaw Maxwell along with October London and Jasmine Sullivan....performers were FANTASTIC! especially Maxwell!! London did a quick but effective set. He will be the next 'Maxwell"...Sullivan was good but her set seemed more dedicated to the ladies as she sung about being 'done wrong' (and I know why) and I aint mad at her.....and of course Maxwell did his thing well as this was the 3rd time I've seen him! He is an entertainer not just a singer. He keeps you glued to your seat (except the idiots from the back who would rush down the aisle to get closer pictures and then stay there and dance, blocking view of the stage PLUS why do people who are in first 8 rows (I'm in 9th) need to stand up to see?!?!?! they blocked view of the stage most of the night....other than people standing and blocking the view...great show!!!!

by Carlos on 9/25/24CFG Bank Arena - BaltimoreBest show ever and always get a parking pass for CFG area because if you park outside the arena you may not have a car to come back to, so have your pass for parking and tickets ready for the show, it might cost a little more but you will be safe inside as you go to the show. Had a blast and I will definitely go back again.

I really enjoyed most of his selections. The opening acts were fantastic as well- Jazmine Sullivan and London. This was my second Maxwell concert and I’m looking forward to seeing him again!

Maxwell is the man … the entire line up is good October London and Jasmine Sullivan ??. But Maxwell has an incredible spirit … I Love him… I was reluctant to go see one of my favorite artist alone but he Serenaded me and I fell more in Love with myself ??
