Charlie Wilson Concert Schedule
The Gap Band alumnus and adult contemporary R&B superstar Charlie Wilson has been dazzling audiences and listeners with his sultry vocals since the takeoff of his solo career in the early 2000s. Charlie Wilson's tour dates feature an electrifying energy more akin to a tight-knit party than a sold-out concert, as seen in his 2017 In It To Win It Tour, his 2015 Forever Charlie Tour and his 2013 Love, Charlie Tour, among many others. Wilson is known for his smooth funk & soul singing style, which, combined with his talents as a songwriter, producer and keyboardist, has led to the creation of numerous R&B hits over his eight solo studio albums. On stage, Charlie puts on a show with an unmatched level of energy. He beckons crowds to take to their feet and feel the music as his band delivers with tightly composed rhythms and he serenades with his dulcet melodies. In addition to praise from fellow performers, Charlie Wilson's music has earned him 11 Grammy Award nominations, six NAACP Image Award nominations (along with one win for Outstanding Album), and numerous honors from BET, Billboard and Soul Train, along with acknowledgements from across the music industry and beyond.
Charlie Wilson Background
Charlie Wilson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1953. The son of a Christian minister, he learned to play piano and sing in church, providing the musical background that led to the formation of The Gap Band with his brothers Ronnie and Robert. After the group announced their retirement in 2010, Charlie shifted his focus to concentrate on his solo career, becoming Billboard Magazine's No. 1 Adult R&B Artist and a breakout success. Wilson's first solo album, Bridging The Gap, came in 2000, earning him acclaim from the single "Without You." His follow-up release, Charlie, Last Name Wilson, went certified gold and produced the eponymous single (along with fellow R&B vocalist R. Kelly) by which he is most often known. In subsequent years, Charlie Wilson continued to release and chart on the Billboard Hot 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop charts and sold more than 1 million copies of his albums. Wilson has inspired generations of performers who also feature him on their own records. He was given the affectionate nickname "Uncle Charlie" by Snoop Dogg and collaborated with the rapper (and Justin Timberlake) on the 2013 track "Signs.

First name, Charlie, last name Wilson always puts on an Outstanding show! This very gifted gentleman’s vocals are so sultry and his performance is ever so electrifying! I have great respect, love and admiration for his talent! **Please come back to Kansas City**
Excellent outdoor venue Seats very comfortable Sound was awesome Charlie Wilson is a classic act still relevant today!
Never disappoints! Every single time Unc Charlie’s shows are magnificent and energetic! He’s moving a tab bit slower BUT still Charlie!
Over hour late performing short set. Good music. Facility is lacking chairs uncomfortable and no room to walk between chairs.
The expensive tickets said the show starts at 7pm. There were no performers until about 8:30PM and then played for a little more than 1 hour. There were no introductions, applause or appreciation for the members of the band, dancers or back up singers which I thought was strange. It was all Charlie this and Charlie that and kind of weird. The last song was "You Dropped The Bomb On Me", he ends with, If you want to see more, call my name...and walks off. Everyone was chanting Char-lee, Char-lee, Char-lee... He never came back out. Ok whatever, yeah he is in love with his own name, LOL And he certainly did "Drop the Bomb On Me"!
Thanks for having Charlie Wilson come play at Tulalip. Wish he played longer.
Concert was amazing light show was awesome and his performance was great well worth the money
Charlie Wilson did not disappoint. I waited 40 years to see him. Some friends and I went in honour of the best friend forever that I lost Sept 2022. We grew up loving Charlie. We sang, we danced, we screamed, and we partied. It was totally worth the trip. The absolute "best ever"concert that I have been too. The audience the couples, there was nothing but love. Char was absolutely there in spirit. I felt her. Room for improvement, break it up and give him a break so we can have him just a little longer without it being too much on him. I appreciate and want him around for along time coming but, I wanted more. Come to Vancouver Uncle Charlie!
Venue was small, but very accommodating. they did not tell you on the website that there were seated and standing for general admission but overall, Charley was great as all ways
