Declared "one of the most remarkable shows in musical theater history" by the Washington Post, DEAREVAN HANSEN is the first musical to take a groundbreaking look--from the point of view of both the parents and young people--at our complex, interconnected, and social media-filled lives. Evan Hansen is a high school student who always feels like he's on the outside looking in. Evan finally gets what so many of us are searching for--the chance to finally fit in. What follows is a poignant, funny, and powerful musical about how even though it can be hard, we can find each other--and ourselves--along the way. Including some of the most iconic musical theatre songs from the last decade, including "You Will Be Found," "Waving Through A Window," and "For Forever," DEAR EVAN HANSEN features an uplifting score by the Tony?, Grammy?, and Oscar? winning team behind The Greatest Showman, La La Land, and "Only Murders in the Building" Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and a book by Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson.

It was great. I really enjoyed. The set design was perfect. The actors were great. I loved it.
An Amazing, Realistic show about what our youth and families are dealing with everyday. All high school students and parents should see this. Sadly you are not alone.
I thought this play was okay. It personally was nothing special to me. The music was great, but that was about it. It feels like the message is lackluster and ends on a "happy note" which doesn't sit well with me for what Evan does. I didn't really care for the humor either. The whole plot of the play left with a message of "it's okay if you take advantage and lie about a dead person, their family and friends will forgive you eventually because you have a mental illness". If it didn't end of that note, I'd give it 4 stars.
What an emotional riveting performance! The acting and singing was spot on. So much talent on one stage! I fell in love with Evan, who was played by Jeffrey Cornelius. Definitely a must-see ??
Shea's Buffalo Theater (Buffalo, NY) recently hosted an extraordinary production that surpassed all expectations. The impeccable performances and profound storytelling left a lasting impact on the audience, highlighting the immense talent of the cast and their ability to convey important social messages. This production not only showcased exceptional acting and singing skills but also served as a poignant exploration of social anxiety and depression, urging us to confront these issues head-on with empathy, compassion, and sympathy. From the moment the curtains rose, it was clear that this performance was more than just a Shea's stage play—it was a heartfelt plea to acknowledge the struggles faced by individuals in our increasingly connected yet isolating world. With their remarkable acting prowess, the cast brought to life characters who grappled with the challenges of social anxiety and depression, allowing us to deeply empathize with their experiences. The actors' performances were nothing short of extraordinary. That I had to say again. Their ability to convey the raw emotions associated with mental health issues was captivating and profoundly moving. Each actor skillfully portrayed the complexities of their characters, showcasing a range of emotions that left the audience spellbound. The authenticity and vulnerability displayed on stage were commendable, making the characters relatable and human. Moreover, the cast's singing skills were awe-inspiring. Their melodious voices filled the theater, touching every heart in the room. The music served as a powerful medium to express the characters' pain, longing, and hope. The carefully selected songs enhanced the storyline and created a poignant atmosphere that resonated with the audience on a deep emotional level. While the performances themselves were exceptional, what truly set this production apart was its ability to shed light on the reality of social anxiety and depression in our society. By addressing the impact of social media, the show highlighted its detrimental effects on mental well-being. It served as a wake-up call, urging us to pause and recognize the struggles those around us face, especially in social media, where the pressure to present a perfect life can be overwhelming. The overarching message of the performance was clear: empathy, compassion, and sympathy are essential in combating the silent battles fought by individuals dealing with social anxiety and depression. The production encouraged us to approach these issues with an open heart, dispelling any judgment or stigma that may be associated with them. It called upon society to prioritize mental health and extend a helping hand to those in need. In conclusion, the performance at Shea's Buffalo Theater was a breathtaking experience that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to witness it. The cast's exceptional acting and singing skills, coupled with the powerful exploration of social anxiety and depression, made for an unforgettable evening. This production entertained us and served as a catalyst for change, urging us to address the pressing issues affecting our society and fostering a more compassionate and understanding world.
I attended the Saturday, 2 pm show on June 24 at Shea’s. What a show! I loved every moment from start to finish. First, the cast was exceptional. The voices and acting were superb. I was completely enveloped in the story and the music from the first second the lights came up. The young man playing Evan (only Sat matinee and Sunday) was amazing, I feel incredibly lucky to have attended this show. The musicians were amazing as well. I had been listening to the Broadway version but I think the live traveling show I saw in Buffalo was superior. Bravo/brava and thank you so much for a completely entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable experience. It reminded me why I love musical theatre!!
Set was incredible. Lead vocalist and others were great singers with moving behaviors.
Dear Evan Hansen was one of the best performances we have seen! The content of the story was remarkably presented to the audience. We felt completely immersed in the feelings of each character based on the complexity of what they were facing. Our 15 year old granddaughter was crying during the last 40 minutes of the show. She was able to relate to what the characters were feeling and conveying to the audience. This performance made an impact on her since she has gone through some of what was discussed in the play. We spoke about it with her after the performance. She also stated she hopes she can be as good of an actress as the cast is since she is involved in school plays already.
I received an email for a BOGO sale for this show, buy one ticket get one free. It did say limited time deal , but after I put the sale code in and my credit card information, I noticed that I did not get the special price. I probably would not have decided to buy these tickets if they were not on sale.
