DAVID SEDARIS ON TOUR:
Beloved humorist and perennial New York Times best-seller David Sedaris has been bringing his signature self-deprecation to both the page and the stage ever since his comic debut in the late-'70s. Sedaris's live shows are equal parts touching and uproarious, taking his childhood trials and tribulations as a starting point and going on to tackle everything from his eccentric family to American politics. Fans of witty, irony-laden anecdotes are in for a treat as Sedaris hits concert halls around the country with his latest show An Evening with David Sedaris.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born to a large family in Binghamton, NY, Sedaris experienced a turbulent childhood that has informed his comedy ever since. After being discovered at a Chicago comedy club in the late '70s by Ira Glass, Sedaris began appearing regularly on Glass's weekly radio program The Wild Room, making a name for himself with his wry, self-effacing stories . In 1992 he made his National Public Radio debut with a reading of "SantaLand Diaries", a hilarious recounting of his days working as a holiday elf at a department store. Since then he has been a regular guest on NPR's This American Life, landed on the New York Times Best Seller list with five essay collections, and received a Grammy nod for his 2004 comedy album Live at Carnegie Hall. Back on tour, the ever-gracious Sedaris will treat fans to another round of laughs at his expense.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"We expected it to be great and he exceeded our expectations. I have not laughed so much in ages. Wonderful! "
"I laughed so much I almost missed what was being send in between punch lines! He has a true gift and I'm so grateful he shares it with the world on these tours! Hands down worth every penny!"
"The best part is that for everyone who has read all of his published work, the shows are always full of new material that has yet to be published; so, it never feels like you've paid just to hear a reading of something that's on bookstore shelves."

Definitely some cry laughing moments. He pushed the envelope on a few topics as evidenced by some audience members getting up and leaving. So he’s not for everyone, but I always enjoy his honest and hilarious lens on the world.
What a great evening. Laughing hysterically one minute and then touched to the core the next. David Sedaris is a gift.
Great to hear the soft voice behind this humorist.
Highly relatable anecdotes about life that are uniquely David Sedaris’ take on things, but universally human characterize his shows. His humour resonates better than most comics.do. He is able to present the absurd and ridiculous realities of current culture in a laughable light and often with a self deprecating tone. Brilliant!
I love David Sedaris's writing and have long enjoyed hearing live readings on audiobooks. This was a great evening of essays, commentary, and exactly what I hoped from an evening with David Sedaris.
We didn’t get to see this show because there was a blizzard over the pass to South Lake Tahoe. With the road closures we weren’t going to chance getting stuck. Very bummed, I know it was probably a great night for those who made it.
I loved seeing David in person, such a funny guy and a real do gooder. His Q and A after the show was very illuminating, the venue was awesome, we had front row tickets, the south shore room at Harrah's South Lake Tahoe was much nicer than an auditorium
If you love David, his books, his observations, his voice, you will love his show. If a show is your first introduction to him, attending may not be for you. Take the time and pleasure to get to know his work and going to see him live and taking time a few moments with him at a signing is a special experience. He isn’t for everyone and that is just fine.
I’m sure that David was amazing, we were unable to get to the venue on time. Spring in Northern Nevada decided to throw us a curveball, despite leaving several hours early to grab food, we were stuck on westbound hwy 50 east of Spooner summit for 3 1/2 hours behind jackknifed big-rigs and unprepared spun out drivers, the snow the unexpectedly made the highway impassable. We are hoping to try and get some tickets for another show soon, I think he will be in Portland in November, trying to get arrangements made to see him there!! So sad to have missed it!!
