My husband and I went to see Tim Minchin on August 13th. We bought seats in club seating which was great! I'm short and still had to duck around the person's head in front of me but that's nothing new and would've been worse in other areas of the theatre. The space in front of the seats is quite narrow so getting past people, or people getting past you, is a pain but there's a divider down the middle of the right and left mezzanines, making each row only six seats so you don't have to scoot too far to get to a seat. I would just be careful when making your seat selections so the divider isn't between you and the people you're with. The performance was supposed to be a strict "cell phones must stay off policy"and yet there were at least three people pulling out their phones and taking pictures which, while understandable because I wanted to do the same, does distract from the performance. Especially when one of them accidentally uses their flash. My only other complaint is that one of the lights on the side of a row seat was really bright in my peripheral so I had to try to keep my head turned a certain way so it out of vision. But overall, in regards to seat position and being able to see the stage, I would definitely buy another seat in that area. Hopefully in the front row.
This was my second event at the Paramount and I’m convinced that there isn’t a bad seat in the house. I’m a former Austinite and the closest venue I can relate it to is the original Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz. The lobby has the same kind of feel and the seating is spacious despite being an older venue. We actually found the parking garage which was a lot easier to get to while getting there in a timely manner. Exiting the parking garage was a bit of a wait but we quickly realized there were two options for us to take to escape the maze. I’m so glad my next set of tickets is to the paramount again and hopefully most future events I attend will be there as well:
There was no leg room and the person’s head in front of me obstructed my view.
Great and beautiful venue. A little up dating wouldn't hurt this place.
The show (Wanda Sykes) was great!! But the theater had no AC or ventilation. It was SO HOT.
Why did you charge me extra for club level when there were no extra perks to these seats? I should have bought one section to either side or behind. Your “club level” was a joke.
Great show with Becky Robinson! Warm up person was terrible. The Paramount really need to replace or re upholster the seats!
I went for a comedy show and I was surprised of how organized and put together everything was. Not scary crazy crowds as there were people directing everyone to the right place. And everyone was kind about it. I would go back for an event there in a heart beat.
Less leg room than a flight, knees had no where to go
