What are the general rules of Barrett Lake?
This is a catch and release fishery for all species, requiring use of artificial lures with barbless hooks only. NO BAIT OF ANY KIND. Each person 16 or older is required to have a valid California fishing license in his or her possession at all times. Licenses are NOT sold at the lake and must be purchased in advanced. License must be worn and visible at anglers waist or above at all times. The California Department of Fish and Game will strictly enforce rules and regulations. No pets are allowed. No PRIVATE motorized boats are allowed. Float tubes, kayaks, and canoes are permitted but a reservation is still required. - No pets! Each person must have a valid daily use permit ($30.00 per person regardless of age) in their possession while at Barrett Lake to avoid being cited for trespass. Permits are purchased at the Lake on the day of your Reservation. Any angler picking up a non-permit holder from shore may be ejected from the Lake.
