Winnipeg Jets History
The Winnipeg Jets were founded in 1997 as the Thrashers, and began play in the 1999–2000 NHL season, spending 11 seasons in Atlanta and making the playoffs once in 2006-2007. In 2011, the franchise was sold to True North Sports and Entertainment, which relocated the team to Winnipeg and adopted the name of the city's original franchise in the World Hockey Association, the Jets.
Major league hockey dates back to 1972 in Winnipeg, which was home to one of the founding franchises of the WHA and one of four (along with Quebec, Hartford and Edmonton) to join the NHL when the leagues merged in 1979. The original Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Phoenix Coyotes (now the Arizona Coyotes). In the 12 seasons that the Jets have been in Winnipeg, they’ve made seven playoff appearances, including a run to the Western Conference Finals in 2018.?
In 2016, the team established the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame, with the "Hot Line" trio of Anders Hedberg, Bobby Hull and Ulf Nilsson as the inaugural inductees. Recent inductees include Teemu Sel?nne and Teppo Numminen.

There is nothing like a “Whiteout” game experience. Really loud and lots of fun.
The event was well organized and easy to access. True North did a great job , my kids had a blast at the street party events and the game atmosphere was electric. Shout out to the Jets, not the finish we hoped for but enjoyed the ride this year. Keep flying high boys !
The atmosphere was electric, enjoyed thoroughly, even more with the win But the whiteout towels were aqua colored and no date(2023-2024)- why Bottled water pricey
Everything was great seats service washrooms and best of game. If I have one complaint it would be cost it’s way to expensive to do as a family unit figure it out a family of Four well over $1000 dollars for one evening not affordable.
It’s always enjoyable evenings at the arena for games and concerts . Nice to see a police presence to ensure patrons safety. Thank you
Great game that clinched the playoffs for our Jets. Seats were good value. I picked up a jersey from one of the hallway kiosks and it was nice not to have to go all the way to the main store. I love that you can get craft beers like Kilter and LBJ. Thanks!
I have followed the jets since the 1970's when Bobby Hull was signed for his million dollar contract. I'm now in my mid 60's and am holding on to the hope that I will see our beloved Winnipeg Jets bring home a Stanley Cup while I'm still alive on earth to enjoy the thrill of winning series after series to the finals. Thank you Jets
Love watching the boys play so exciting when I go to the Games????????
Easy sailing to get in and out of this venue! Kind, helpful people working Security, Bars, Guest Services! This includes Hockey Games, and concerts. I travel the world and have been to several arenas….none compare.
