Colorado Avalanche History
The Avalanche, who have won three Stanley Cup Championships (1996, 2001 and 2022), began as the Quebec Nordiques of the World Hockey Association in 1972. After capturing one WHA title, the Nordiques joined the NHL in 1979. The franchise moved to Denver in 1995 and became the Colorado Avalanche under the leadership of Pierre Lacroix.?
In the Avalanche's 29 years in Colorado, the team has captured 12 Division Championship titles, three Conference Championship titles, three Presidents’ Trophy honors, and has retired six player jerseys including Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Milan Hejduk, Patrick Roy, Adam Foote and Ray Bourque.

Great overall experience with the fans and concessions. Though, the seats are a major issue and it seemed that way for everyone. Anytime a skinny or bigger person sat down the cupholders would try to spill the drink or just made it difficult to sit in. I understand trying to get as many people in the seats but should try to consider some comfort to the people spending money on tickets.
The Avalanche were down 3-2 in this 7-game series. It went to Double-OT, but we lost. I appreciated how much energy the crowd had (even standing for most of OT!), and I also appreciated the "Playoff Hockey Overtime Yoga"on the big screen. #GoAvsGo (but next year)
Always great experience! Fun people around, well organized, good food/beverage selection. Why are people allowed to vape!!! This has not happened at the last few events, obviously it’s hard to police something like this but if others are reading this, please have some respect for your seat mates. We don’t want to breathe that!
Terrible game if you're an Avs fan, however as a Stars fan it was wonderful.
Great hockey game! Only wish the sound system wasn’t so loud, it’s like a rock concert in there.
With a full house and a supercharged Avalanche hockey team it was a fun and energy filled experience. Ball Arena is a good hockey viewing venue and the electronics/video are unsurpassed in my experience in professional hockey arenas. The only place for improvement is the fan souvenir. I have never seen pom poms at an NHL hockey event. All that shredded plastic and nothing to take home as a memento. That is the reason why NHL teams give out a team logo playoff towel. You can save them as a souvenir. Get rid of the pom poms and complete the positive story of Avalanche events.
The Colorado Avalanche put on the best show ever. They keep you on the edge of your seat. When the whole building gasps on almost goals. Or jump out of their seats when there is a score. You can feel the energy building as the clock ticks down and when everyone is standing and the AV's win with everyone screaming during the final seconds. I haven't had any other experience like it.
Nothing special , standard affair. $18 beer, no 50/50 draw and not a coffee shop in the place,lol

I'd travelled from Australia to see the Avs play at Ball Arena and I was not disappointed. I went to two games and really enjoyed both games. The Avs work hard to provide a great gameday experience that is fun. I'd love to come back to Denver and see them again.
