Wheelwright brings a western sound of pop and grunge from the sprawling desert city of Phoenix, AZ. Blending devil may care spirit commenting with the tumultuous contemporary relationships and existentialism that comes from hope and youth in a world that isn’t kind to either. None of his songs are idealistic, they capture a rugged wholesomeness that comments on the human experience. No darkness without light, no laughter without at least some suffering, no thoughtfulness without some recklessness. Songs of self acceptance and love without the kumbaya bullshit, but rather the idea that we are all beautiful and flawed, stuck here together, whether we like it or not.
His songs are self admitting and allow listeners to meet him where they truthfully are. Not where they’ve been or where they want to go. But what is directly in the mirror in front of them. It’s brash and it’s honest. The true beauty is that everybody has things about themselves that they don’t like, they have things that they would change about themselves, but they also have spirits, and hopes, and dreams and light inside of them despite the darkness that seems to hang over us as we march into the uncertainty of what’s next.

Amazing band - great stage presence, interactions with fans
The band was awesome. The show was really high energy and the band interacted with the audience throughout. They sounded amazing. There is always a fear when you hear a band for the first time, that they won't sound as good as they do on the album, but Jared and the Mill sounded even better! Loved that they hung out on the venue floor after getting to know there fans. They played a few new songs that made me even more excited for the upcoming album release.
I saw Jared and The Mill earlier this year, and they put on a great show, so I was psyched when I saw that they were coming(fairly) close. The night started off with Edison, out of Denver, and they immediately gained a new fan! Their indie-folk blend of music is well written, they are talented musicians, and really engaged the crowd. JatM, were amazing. Great song choices, fun banter, and we even sang Happy Birthday to Jared's mom through Facetime. If you get the chance, check these two bands out (they both have new albums in September 2016)
In watching them play you could see their passion for music, their love for the tour (despite a broken down van!), and their electric energy. I'm a sucker for harmonizing which they rock. Overall beautiful sound and a good group of guys.
