The stadium felt half empty and way too spread out. There was little resemblance to what I would call "College Football atmosphere"...it felt more like I was at a watching an NFL game in Europe or an NFL exhibition game...there was just no energy whatsoever.
The concessions inside the stadium were awful. Half the concession stands were closed and the one that weren't had long lines and possibly the WORST food and beverages that I have ever had at a sporting event...and I have been to a lot of sporting events. The Warm Pretzel was actually cold, the Hot Chocolate was barely warm and watery and awful.
The beer garden in the Exhibition Center was a disaster. Understaffed and poorly staffed, it was an average 20 minute wait in line to get a beer and the security people from "Staff Pro" were some of the rudest most unpleasant folks that I have ever encountered in such situations.
If I didn't know any better, I would say that collectively, the various staff teams working this event and their bosses, both inside and outside the stadium, did not like being there, and flat out did not like Cougar fans in general. I will NEVER attend this event again and will certainly never recommend it to anyone, in fact, I will discourage attendance of it.
I was in Pullman for a game a week earlier and the experience was amazing. Great facilities, friendly staff, good service and incredible college football atmosphere. Why WSU would ever want to soil its brand by displacing it to the perfectly awful environment that I experienced at CenturyLink field and the Exhibition Center is really beyond me.
Sorry to have to write such a bad review, but unfortunately its the truth. I came with 12 other people and they all had similar feelings about the whole thing.
