Wale on Tour
There's only one Wale. Since arriving in 2006, he has consistently gone against the grain. An old school lyricist with new school energy, otherworldly hooks and a sense of irony tailormade for its own Seinfeld episode, he instantly set himself apart. 2008's inventive Mixtape About Nothing cemented him as a critical favorite and preceded the major label debut Attention Deficit in 2009. Bowing at #2 on the Billboard 200, the now-classic and gold-certified Ambition yielded the GRAMMY? Award-nominated platinum-selling "Lotus Flower Bomb." Two more blockbusters followed as The Gifted [2013] and The Album About Nothing [2015] both crashed the Billboard 200 at #1 back-to-back. Shine [2017] gave the world "My PYT," which is RIAA certified platinum, as Wale continued dropping heat. Along the way, Wale covered magazines such as Complex, Billboard, XXL and Vibe, and would receive honors at the BET Awards, BET HipHop Awards, Soul Train Awards and more. To date, Wale has achieved four platinum or multiplatinum singles, three gold singles and two gold albums. Wale continues to break ground with the release of 2019's critically-acclaimed Wow... That's Crazy, which includes #1 single "On Chill" featuring Jeremih. What's more, Wale has accumulated over 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and has reached over half a billion channel views on YouTube.
Wale also made history as "the first rapper to open the State Of The Union," gracing the stage with an unforgettable performance before President Obama's final State Of The Union Address. A regular guest of the First Family, he participated in First Lady Michelle Obama's "Reach Higher" initiative for higher education as well. Expanding his cultural influence, Wale teamed up with Villa for a limited-edition line of sneakers. These included the Asics "Bottle Rocket," the Timberland "Gift Box Set" and the VILLA x Wale x ASIC Gel Lyte III "IC Champion." Wale's label imprint, Every Blue Moon, encompasses the scope of his creative vision with musicians, comedians and screenwriters under its umbrella.

Wale is one of the best all around rap artist in the game and his performance proved it.
so grateful to get the promo ticket. currensy was very good, I had never seen him perform before.
There was production that was phenomenal. The cameras, the music quality. I could tell care was put into the whole concert.
The venue was nice. The DJ was good. The transition between the artist was not smooth. Artist should always do a quick sound check to ensure the levels are on point.
Well I don’t have much to say about the concert. It wasn’t a big turnout as some concerts are. I didn’t appreciate that there were no merchandise available for purchase after the show ended so I didn’t get to vibe with the audience or see any of the shows performers afterwards. It was whatever
The venue is A1 and who doesn’t want to be on a breath taking rooftop in nyc. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. I didn’t enjoy my drink but not because it wasn’t well made it just wasn’t my jam. I gave it away and the person loved ir. The concert was dope as hell. And Joey bada$$ did his thing and Wale performed his hits and he has a ton of them. The people in attendance were mad chill so honestly just felt like a grown folk kick back. I wish o would have gotten a chance to buy vip tickets. Because I would have dropped whatever but when I found out about the concert I didn’t see any vip tix for sale. All in all a great concept and pier 17 is a great venue.
Amazing Show! The atmosphere, and the hospitality was amazing. It was such a vibe.
Both Joey Badass and Currency were much better than Wale’s performance. We actually left in the middle of his set because it was so bad. He didn’t have the rights to half the music so he couldn’t perform it. So instead he played a bunch of small snippets. He was talking to the DJ the majority of the time while his singer did most of the performing that night.
Wale did a great job and performed all the hits. It was a great vibe from the second I arrived at Rooftop Pier 17 I can’t wait for the next show celebrating Hip Hop.
