TOKYO POLICE CLUB IN CONCERT:
?
Upbeat Canadian indie quartet Tokyo Police Club has been getting wallflowers dancing with their post-punk-inspired sound and high-spirited live performances for the past decade. The group’s concerts are a nonstop barrage of catchy melodies, and sing-along-worthy choruses, and their outsize charm and infectious energy fill the room every time they take the stage. Earworms like “Hot Tonight” and “Your English Is Good” always elicit massive cheers from the crowd, and the band responds in kind with unbridled enthusiasm as they tear through their set. Whether they’re performing songs from their 2008 debut album Elephant Shell or 2014’s Forcefield, Tokyo Police Club always rock the stage with their impressive musicianship, lively stage presence, and extensive catalog of powerful indie rock jams.?

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
?
Tokyo Police Club was formed in Toronto in 2005 from the ashes of the band Suburbia. They began playing small shows in the area, and before long word-of-mouth buzz had earned them an opening slot at the Pop Montreal Festival. A stellar performance there led to a deal with Paper Bag Records, and in 2006 the band made their debut on the label with the EP A Lesson in Crime. They followed up in 2007 with the Smith EP, and in 2008 they released their full-length debut album Elephant Shell. The record was a Top 10 hit in Canada, and also charted in the US which led to an extensive North American tour. Their 2010 sophomore album Champ was also well received, earning them three Top 20 singles on the Canadian Alternative Chart and a high-profile performance on the Late Show with David Letterman. In 2014 the band released their third album Forcefield to another round of critical and commercial success, and they continue to impress with their adrenaline-filled sets on tour.
Nice location, nice show!! Smart entrance system!!
Although it was heart breaking knowing that this was the last time I'd see them on stage, they put on a heck of a concert!! You could tell they were pulling out all the stops for the fans and the crowd was amazing!! It was also a beautiful venue! RIP Tokyo Police Club, although I am saddened to see them go, I wish all of them well on their next adventures!
It was a smallish venue, the band was up-close and their energy funneled through the crowd. The entire place was literally hopping. The sound was damn near perfect. They played a wonderful sampling of their catalogue, and the musicianship was excellent. TPC performed some incredible rock soundscapes, and I will always remember them for their full rock 4 piece sound. (lead guitar, rhythm guitar/keys, bass, and drums) Still feeling bittersweet, as this is the final tour.
Great sound, excellent venue. Tokyo Police Club played everything you wanted to hear and more. What a great way to go out.
Thank you so much TPC for such a memorable concert. Will keep listening to your music.
They’re great live. The venue was surprisingly full on a second night of playing in Los Angeles. Sad it was their farewell show.
I will miss them! They went out with a BANG. They’re music will always put me in a good mood
Tokyo police club was fantastic at the masquerade in hell as their sound is incredible live and they played a long show that went through a great deal of their music, including Champ. The venue was a great small venue but my only complaint about the venue is that it needs better options for parking as I got booted in a parking lot due to confusion with how to pay.
Such a great show; I always love the constellation room. Tokyo Police Club did such an amazing job ?? Will definitely see them again next time they tour.
Updated strict COVID rules prevented my son from going. The tix were purchased for him. We’re all vaxxed but him since he hasn’t been able to get the shot until this past week. Tired of the politics. Disappointed
It was amazing to be back at live shows! The weather was perfect and both bands sounded great! I would absolutely see either one live again
Great concert great energy Tokyo police club was amazing
Simply one of the best concerts I've ever been to. They were high energy and fun. The music was spot on and they played tightly together. Don't miss these guys!
Not only was the music amazing, they are great performers. It really seems like they enjoy performing and performing together. Great stage presence!
I only remember being as happy as I was at this shows maybe 2 other times in my life
I love going to Tokyo Police Club's shows because of their energy and interaction with the audience. Their music is incredibly catchy and fun while having a lot of variation from album to album. I will definitely be attending their future shows, again and again and again!!!
This is one of my greatest stories. I was going to see Charly Bliss only b/c I love that band. The Boston marathon ran that day and for a few days i was getting a lot of opinions...mostly dont go..you will never get into the city...you will never get parking. Long story short (b/c it is long) I had decided to not go b/c i was feeling anxious about it. I posted on facebook, my page and charly bliss page, that i was sad and not going. Well, friends convinced me to man up and go for it. I ended up going. no traffic, no roads closed, plenty of parking. I saw Eva and Sam out front. I chatted with them. got pictures with the band. they played a great set. hung out with them after their set. GREAT NIGHT...and a great life lesson. YOLO.
Tokyo Police Club was SO good!! Definitely going to go if they come back next year! Said the Whale was surprisingly good as well! I only knew maybe 2 songs of theirs, but I really enjoyed their music too!
Great show. I liked the venue, and we had a good view from the mezzanine.
Fairly lame. Fairly dissapointed. Waste of a good Sat night.
