The Warning In Concert
When The Warning debuted before the world, the headlines were eye-popping. "These Girls Started a Totally Badass Metal Band and Their Bassist Is Only 10" was at the top of a BuzzFeed News article. People begged readers to "Stop Everything and Watch These Teen Girls Play Metallica's Enter Sandman."?
The Villarreal Sisters did exactly that — they covered "Enter Sandman" on their YouTube channel in 2014. More than 18 million views later, the sisters from Monterrey, Mexico, are signed to Nada Mas Records and have opened shows for Def Leppard and The Killers (they also were the first Mexican band to ever appear on The Ellen Degeneres Show).?
But teens Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra proved to be much more than just a viral sensation. They have toured through Mexico, played in much of the United States, and graced festival stages alongside heavy metal stars like Mastodon, Iron Maiden, and even Ozzy Osbourne at Corona Hell & Heaven in Mexico City. Led by Daniela's authoritative vocals, Paulina's sinister drumming (which has garnered praise from Metallica's Kirk Hammett), and a menacing live show, The Warning can flat-out shred.
The Warning Background
Hailing from the northeastern Mexican city of Monterrey, Daniela and Paulina — the two oldest Villarreal sisters — started taking piano lessons while their parents exposed them to contemporary rock bands like Muse and AC/DC. In 2007, when the sisters were 6 and 8 years old, they took to playing the Rock Band video game while their three-year-old sister, Alejandra, looked on.?
As they got older, the girls set down the video-game instruments in favor of guitar (Daniela), drums (Paulina), and bass (Alejandra) and started recording their rehearsals and uploading them to a modest YouTube channel. It was all just fun and games until a 2014 YouTube clip of the sisters playing Metallica's "Enter Sandman" went viral and changed the course of their lives.?
It led them to record their debut EP, Escape the Mind, in 2015 and continue to capitalize on their newfound notoriety playing high-profile shows in Mexico. As their introduction to the world has progressed and people have recognized them as bona fide artists, The Warning have released two LPs — 2017's XXI Century Blood and the polished 2018 Nada Mas follow-up, Queen of the Murder Scene.
Fantastic show from start to finish! Great sound and phenomenal stage presence from all three musicians! Can't wait to see them again!
Amazing. Loved it ! ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
The Warning is the most exciting new rock band in the planet, i can`t wait for the next oportunity to wacht them again, don`t miss them!!!!
Started with the crowd control at the venue directing to the VIP or general line. When the doors opened the fastest I have ever gone through security. Actually in the venue ready for the show before the posted 7:00 doors open time. Wilt, the opener started right at 8:00 put on a great show and finished about 30 minutes. The crew quickly swapped out equipment and about 9:00 The Warning went on stage putting on a show I wished went on much longer than the 17 songs they performed. All in all one of the best concert experiences I have had. Other venues and performers could take lessons.
I cannot believe the power that comes out of such a tiny person like Dany! She has so much power and personality in her vocals! This band is the best modern rock band period!
The Warning would be an awesome band even without the amazing back story. These young ladies are incredibly talented and put on a great show. It's nice to see some young people picking up the rock and roll torch. Can't wait to see where they go next.
The sister trio from Monterey Mexico are rock stars and they played a tight hour and ten minute set flawlessly. The ladies have great energy and stage presence and they have a bright future ahead of them. Highly recommended show and venue. The opening act Holy Wars are also a band to keep an eye on.
I just found this band in Dec '23, I dove face first into the rabbit hole and haven't come up for air since! I grew up on rock from the 80s, hard rock, hair metal, heavy metal, all of it. Van Halen was my favorite band for many years, but these ladies are the best thing I've encountered since then! Their catalog is non stop hits and to get to see them live was a dream come true for me. I hadn't been to a concert in 17 years because nobody was drawing me in enough to go to see them live. As soon as I found The Warning I knew I NEEDED to see them in person. And they delivered! This show was everything I'd hoped it would be and more! The fans say that this band's super power is live performances, and that's no lie! The energy, the stage presence, the crowd engagement, the charisma! And the WALL OF SOUND!!! It's incredible how audibly powerful they are for any band, let alone a 3-piece! If you haven't seen The Warning live, what are you even doing with your life?!?!
The Warning’s show at The Warsaw in Brooklyn, NY was awesome! But what would you expect from three sisters who are great songwriters, musicians, and singers? They also have commanding stage presence and they have their own personalities. Also, a shoutout to Holy Wars! Great energetic performance!
The Warning came to Brooklyn and completely rocked the place. Seriously, Dany, Pau, and Ale have some of the best energy of any rock band out there! They play a show that flows and leaves you ready for the next time you’ll see them! Seriously, this was one of the best concerts I’ve been to in years. My first The Warning concert will not be my last. Do yourself a favor and go to a concert when you have the chance. The Warning proves that rock isn’t dead at all, in fact, it’s in great hands!
The single best live band on the planet, There is no close second. Modern, ultra-high energy, brilliant rock. There has not been anything this exciting in the hard rock scene in 30 years. If you have any chance to see them do not think about it, just do it. If you can see them twice, do that. 3x? Even better. Just go,
One of the most phenomenal bands of their generation and ever, The Warning will instantly connect with you to your core and wash over you as a force of nature and musical storm of power, empathy, and soul! They are fans of their fans and give their all! Cheer Dany, Pau, and Ale on till your voice is gone!! 4Ever Warned!! ????????????
This was my 3rd time seeing the Warning. They have surpassed my expectations every time. So much talent, hope to continue to make music for a long time. Appreciate that they choose small venues to perform to give that personal touch to their fans. Keep rocking ladies!!
What can I say? The Warning are simply the best live rock band on the planet. I have been listening to the same classic rock music for the last 30 years. Finally we have a fresh exciting band that brings back the vibes of classic rock but with a fresh twist. I hope I can listen to them for the next 30 years!
Can't wait until their next tour. In fact, I wish I could travel back in time to see their earlier performances. Three great musicians, composers and performers and they are sisters!
I found The Warning through BAND-MAID and immediately became hooked by their sound. Then watched some of their music videos and live music videos, that's when I knew I had to see them live. Leading to me seeing them in Brooklyn NY and they definitely did not disappoint at all. They are definitely one the best new bands I've come across in a while and I can't wait to see them again and again for years to come.
Best live performance I have ever been to. The Warning does not miss.
They were OUTSTANDING! Amazing performers. Sold out show, lines around the block, stood in line for 2 hours to get in to wait another hour for the show to start - and it was so worth it!
The Warning puts on a show that blows you out of the building. The energy from these girls is immense and there talent is 2nd to none. You miss good rock n roll? What are you waiting for? If they come to your city dont think twice. Go!!!
First of all, these gals know how to put on a fantastic show for their fans. They are so passionate over their music that I rarely see in most bands these days. The way that they synchronize is just chef's kiss. You got Daniela on vocals and shredding on guitar, Paulina who never seems to run out of energy while drumming and lastly Alejandra who knows how to keep the rhythm on bass guitar. Overall, 10 out of 10 for anyone who enjoys rock and for those who don't know these girls, well what are you doing? Join the group.
