They all did a great performance!!! So happy my boyfriend got us the tickets!! He knew that I’d love the show !!
The Coasters were great but they only performed 3 of their songs. The Drifters could sing as well but effects to be sexy disappointed me. I wanted to see and hear the smooth original sound. The Platters blew me away with their harmonies, but then freaked me out when they started singing Motown songs . This was not the show I was looking forward to. Every disappointed.
Although I wasn't paying attention when I bought the tickets to notice the show was a "revue", I felt that this new generation of The Platters hit it out of the ball park. The group made their affiliation with the original Platters clear, and their performance was fantastic! I highly recommend this show as it is a great tribute to a great band.
I'm a 50 something who went to the show with my 25 year old daughter, 84 year old mom and her bestie who is 87. The music started off strong, fun and energetic with the Coasters! We all were singing and bopping along to almost every song! The Drifters came is with all the moves, songs and swagger one could hope for. The Platters pleased the crowd with all of their hits, their velvety sound and moves that threw the crowd back to the days of Motown and Pre-Motown. After playing ALL the songs we hoped for and bringing the crowd to our feet a few different times, they closed out the night with an a cappella version of the most moving hymn EVER! It was a religious experience for sure (and I'm not even a religious person) All four of us thoroughly enjoyed this special night of music!
The show was great! The groups and band were great! Just wished it lasted longer.
To begin with, the preliminary performance by the Coasters was incredibly short, maybe 20 minutes. Secondly, the subsequent performance by the Drifters was the better of the three, as I could see they put a lot of effort into their act and interacted with some audience members. Whereas the Platters, who were the headliners, had a longer set, yet their performance was only mediocre at best. The seating was basically horrendous and uncomfortable, causing us to leave before the final performance; visibility was terrible because we had to peek over the heads in front, as there wasn't terraced seating and the chairs were unusually close together.
We saw the show featuring the Coasters, Drifters, and the Platters, all 3 groups were fantastic, they sang the songs of our era and we loved singing along with them. It brought back so many great memories. The Platters rendition of , How great thou art was unbelievable, the harmonies were perfect, Great Show
Professional, polished and very talented.Of course, not the the original group but stand on their own in every musical way
Even though there are no original members, the sound was original. Lots of choreography, which was really good. Beautiful voices and adorable personalities. Hard to pick it favorite, but I will go with Lance. Can’t resist that smile and those dimples. Everyone did a wonderful job, and the show was incredibly entertaining.
