Fun Dancing in my seat Standing up dancing and clapping with the Songs and music?? I want to see it again and take family members! Balboa theater was a fabulous venue! Met the cast after the performance!
The music was very good, stage usage was impressive, energy level so very high...but the thing that really got me was the feeling of true caring and friendship displayed by the cast. Professionalism aside, these young men seemed to truly enjoy each other, a feeling of deep affection permeated the Presentation Hall!
This was our second time seeing the Choir of Man at DPAC, and it did not disappoint! The cast is talented, and they provide an entertaining experience where audience participation is encouraged. Highly recommend!
I saw the show originally on a cruise ship when I got home from the trip I told my entire family about this fabulous show and I was so excited when I heard it was coming to Parker Playhouse. It was worth the way through Covid and it’s a fabulous show if you have a chance to see it don’t miss it
The talent was amazing. Beautiful voices in perfect harmony. The tapper was the best I had seen in person. I laughed, cried, danced in my seat and enjoyed every moment. It was perfect for all ages my daughter is 23, I am 50 and my mother in law is 89. A must see show.
My wife and I had zero expectations prior to the show. We were very pleased on a fine performance by all. It was well paced, was entertaining, had talented singers and was at time very humorous. We had a great time! Would recommend this show to everyone.
These guys have AMAZING voices - and can be really engaging and fun - but this performance was more subdued and somber. I was really looking forward to engaging with them and singing with them. Much of their performance was singing slow and sad songs. In this current Covid climate, I was hoping for uplifting songs and singalongs. While there were some, they were interspersed among the sad ones. They passed out free beer before the performance and I was hopeful for a fun evening. Their voices are fantastic and amazing! I only wish it was a more joyous performance. They play 'everything' on the stage which is great and even have a great tap performance. Lots of chatting in between about missing life in Ireland - though I think he was going for a more 'home is where you make it' - it was delivered with a somber tone. The tickets were affordable and I feel like I am fine about that - I just really wanted to be engage with them - and I DO love the song Parting Glass - and Dance with my Father Again - but it did bring down the mood.
This was my first live show since COVID and it was amazing! These guys are well worth the ticket price and put on an amazing show. Their voices blend beautifully and they are fun to boot. Will see this show again before it leaves the US.
Tremendous surprise…… great cast….very entertaining…..I’d see it again!!
In an age of Covid and quarentines, Choir of Man is an uplifting, almost spiritual (not religious) experience. These young men are poignant, upbeat, funny and so cute. Their performance was authentic and honest, but engaging until the very end. I would have loved it to go a bit longer because it offered so much joy! Do not miss this if you can see it.
This was my second time seeing the, albeit with a different yet still awesome cast. A very high energy, entertaining show. I’m trying to convince my niece (who has also seen it twice) to go and see it again in another city.
I had heard about the Choir of Man from my children who work for Norwegian Cruise Line (they perform on their ships) and only heard fabulous things. I had learned from them that the Choir of man was written to support men's mental health. Apparently, the originator of the performance had a very dear friend who used to frequent his local pub quite regularly. Anyway, the pub closed down and the friend had no where to go to share his "emotions" and ended up taking his own life. The play's originator believed that if that local pub did not close down, his friend would still be here today - because it was his outlet where he could share his troubles (over a pint). The show (which is not depressing at all), mimics how one can go to the pub for whole gammit of emotions and the songs they sing reflect that. Celebratory songs, love songs, missing a late parent songs, funny songs etc. The energy is AMAZING! The Talent UNMATCHED and I promise you that you will not be disappointed. It is great for all aged adults (kids will like the music but there really is no "plot"and the jokes may go over their heads). They perform music for all generations. When we left the show, my family of 9 (ages 28-86) all had a different favorite song. I cannot wait until they return so I can see them again!!!
I was looking forward to seeing Choir of Men as this was our first concert after Covid. We had first seen Choir of Men on a cruise and even our 10 year old loved them and enjoyed the show. We had purchased their CD after the show on the cruise and we listened to it on our way to Friday night's concert. Well, sadly we were all so disappointed as the concert was exactly the same as the show we experienced back in 2019 on the cruise. NO NEW SONGS, exactly the same songs and show as the cruise in 2019. If you have seen Choir of Men before don't waste your money on this show as you'll be equally disappointed. I honestly expected a new show, new songs - even if some were repeated.
We were suggested by our daughter and her spouse, to see that show. They saw it on a cruise ship and really enjoyed it. So we bought tickets 4 days before the show and we don’t regret it. That team reflect the sincerity, the friendship and overall, they sing like the’ve been together for ever. We went from deep emotion to great laugh. We recommand to all.
Loved the energy and audience participation. Did not want it to end....
Didn't expect this. They are great! So talented and so much fun. The voices and harmonies are beautiful.
Great job on the program. We say this same group on NCL 2 times prior. All very talented singers dance and tell a story of fun comrades. I got seats on the 2nd row stage Right because I knew they had a few songs that actually play off on that part of the stage. Lots of fun.
These guys are really amazing. They sing popular songs that make you want to clap and dance while they are putting on the show. I just wish the show was longer but still a lot of fun. At the end you don't want to leave, you want them to sing more.
This show was so insanely good. It was almost an immersive experience even though you're still there watching a show. The vocals were fantastic, the experience was emotional with all the peaks and valleys you would want in a well rounded show. I actually laughed and cried. If you have a chance to see this show - GO
