It was alright. Definitely not broadway quality.

Great vocals but really hard to hear the dialogue up in the upper mezzanine. So if you didn't know the plot ahead of time(us), the majority of the show we couldn't follow. And when the people on the main floor were laughing, we were all quiet up in the mezzanine because nobody heard the line. The experience way up in the mezzanine is much different than the main floor.
I loved Funny Girl from beginning to end! I saw the movie many years ago and listened to the album. As soon as a song started, I knew which one it was, so I could sing along in my mind. Good acting, good sets and fabulous voices!
Having seen this on Broadway with Lea Michelle, I have to admit I had high hopes. The performance were fine (not Lea Michelle, but good), and the costumes were good, but the sets! I really need a three dimensional set to suspend disbelieve, and those 'backdrops' were distracting and cheap. I expected so much more for this much anticipated tour.
Watched as a Kid and loved the score. I know all of the songs. Wondered how they would change the sexist parts "You are smaller so I can be taller than""If I stop him now could he sue me?""We will do it all his way"When the family was falling apart because Nick had squandered their family finance she put blame on herself and said "How can I change to make you happy". The lead had a beautiful voice. Some of the supporting cast were hard to understand and Nick was very stiff. Having seen about a hundred shows on Broadway and London and reginal theatre.... This one was a 2 and is one of only 4 shows that we truly did not like.
Beautiful performances by an extraordinarily talented cast. Love the story, costumes were wonderful, score is amazing and lead who played Fanny Brice was spectacular.
Barbra Streisand is a really tough act to follow, that is a given however seeing this production was a bit of a let down. The performers didn’t have a rich range vocally and were somewhat stiff in their delivery.
The musical needed better singers and actors. After all, it is pricey! We will think twice about future musicals,
I've been a regular 5th Ave patron for over 3 decades but never have seen Funny Girl. I have seen many musical groups play there over the same time frame, but no musical plays- until Funny Girl. The theater was as beautiful as I remember it and the musical could not have been more impressive. The sets, costumes and especially the choreography were top notch and spot on. I highly recommend it.
I love Funny Girl! The actress who portrayed Fanny was absolutely amazing. However, Nick Arnstein’s character really missed the mark for me and that was disappointing. I believe he was the understudy, maybe that explains it. Mostly the show was delightful. Also, Paramount Theater was oppressively hot which made it very uncomfortable!
