The rise of the rhythm section is emblematic of our brave new world where musical conventions are often turned on their head. This is the case with extraordinary bass and drum team of Evan Marien and Dana Hawkins, who lead from the front and build their sound from the bottom up to create a progressive fusion, splicing genres, technology and technique in a dazzling display that?s already racked up hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and earned them a worldwide following.
Surfing the post-Squarepusher/Thundercat/Flying Lotus wave of progressive instrumental music where jazz, electronica, beat culture and heavy bass collide, Evan Marien and Dana Hawkins appeal to the heart, head and hips as two of the brightest stars in the global groove firmament.

Sungazer, a good and creative band, attracted a very slim demographic for this show. I am an older jazz/prog rock lover, and my younger coworker (32 y.o.) introduced me to this band. It was a fun and interesting concert. Caused much thought and further ponderance.
This was a fantastic show! The people are also so funny.
Literally an out-of-world experience. Best night of my life.
Sungazer was awesome! I loved their set of new and old and covers. The performance was engaging and the sound was high quality. However, although Everything Yes sounded way better live than on tape, there were irritating issues with the sound/mixing of keyboard and especially guitar.
