Slow Burn Theatre Co: The Spongebob Musical Tickets

Our family was polite and remained through the first half and left at intermission. Truth be told we could have walked out possibly halfway through the first number. The characters were a bit overplayed, he sound was off and the music overpowered the actors, the microphones worn by the actors were placed precariously and taped visibly to their foreheads or faces, and the numbers were not well written or as clever as the reviews stated. The reviews felt misleading after seeing the musical in person. With that said there is clear talent with some of the cast and at moments that overpowered everything else that was simply missing. The amount of money spent is a bit frustrating and I write this review so that others splurging on a theatre experience don't make the same mistake and choose this Sponge Bob The Musical.

We honestly went to this production with low expectations because, ya know- SpongeBob. But we were SO pleasantly surprised by the quality of the singing, dancing and writing. Fun for the entire family.

The cast did a great job of bringing the characters to life. Had a fun and entertaining evening.

Clearly the audience needed an intimate knowledge of the characters prior to seeing the show. The few who did, hooted and hollered, whenever a different character was seen. Unfortunately for the rest of us, we felt we were not in on the joke. The sound system mumbled the voices so much was lost to the audience. Even though the production was targeted to children, it is no excuse for it to be sloppy and awkwardly acted. This show was clearly an outlier for the Slow Burn Theater and I’m confident the next season will return to the excellent work to which we have all been accustomed.

The play Sponge was a wonderful performance providing great music, acting singing and artistry.

The whole experience was like watching the cartoon itself and the set pieces and costumes were great! ?? (Not to mention even the pre-show was already hype before the actual musical began too) Highly recommend this one! ????

I bought two tickets and took my daughter Janelle (that is a SpongeBob fanatic) for an early 18th birthday present. I didn't tell her what her gift was but she pretty much knew once she saw all of the posters everywhere. Janelle had never been to a play/musical so this was her first experience. She loved it from beginning to end! I am not really familiar with the characters but when the pirate came out at the beginning of the show she nearly jumped out of her chair. That was a great opening, both the DJ's on the side were full of energy. They interacted with everyone and said hi to everyone. The show was spectacular. From he set up, the characters, the usher's at the door everyone was just friendly. I really believe this group deserves to reach to the very top. The were great! I wouldn't mind going a 2nd time and I am sure neither would Janelle, I am sure.

The SpongeBob Musical was so enjoyable. Great singing and dancing with SpongeBob and all his friends under the sea. Very colorful sets and great fun with Patchy the Pirate coming out into the audience. Don’t miss it!??????

THIS SHOW WAS MUCH BETTER THAN EXPECTED! LOVED THE SINGING AND DANCING! GREAT SHOW, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I am not a fan of the tv show but this was one of the most fun stage shows I've ever seen!
