Riot Fest 2024
by Ronnie on 9/25/24Absolutely crushed Riot Fest. Best show I've seen in several years. Was concerned age would hinder the vocals....couldn't have been more wrong. Definately don't miss.

Originating in Huntington Park, CA in 1981 as a cover band in the head-banging scene, Slayer has become one of the most important metal bands in rock history, commonly referred to in the Big 4 alongside Anthrax, Megadeath and Metallica. Their first two albums, 1983’s Show No Mercy and 1985’s Hell Awaits, were released on Metal Blade Records, before they signed to Rick Rubin’s Def Jam label in 1986. There they released their third album Reign in Blood, which caught mainstream attention and has proved to be a genre-defining thrash metal album, influencing countless bands as well as the subgenres of death metal and black metal. Tom Araya’s shouted vocals and graphic lyrics are thought-provoking and articulate, while their tight musical structures combining hardcore rock’s rhythms and speed metal’s frenzied pace generate fast and aggressive songs, intensified through the use of double bass drumming, and unconventional but engaging guitar riffs. This all-out rock offensive has been wowing ticket holders for over three decades, selling out concerts across the globe. Over the years, Slayer has been nominated for five Grammy awards, most recently 2009’s World Painted Blood, and continues to tour while working on new material.

Seeing them for the first time this October at AFTERSHOCK
Slayer at the Warfield, was one of the best shows I have ever been to, can’t wait to see them again!!!! Slayer has played for a long time I been to at least 8 of their shows in the Bay Area and never had a bad time , Metal Head!!!
Jeff Hanneman can never be replaced but Gary Holt did a hell of a job filling in, taking time from Exodus to make sure fans still got their fill of their all time favorite band.
The lineup was Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Lamb of God, and finally Slayer. I bought tickets for my father and I for a Father’s Day gift. The energy of a Slayer show is completely unimaginable, and the pure intensity of it all was unforgettable. I am so glad to have been able to see them before they stopped touring.
Lam of god , Anthrax , Testament and the gods of hard core metal Slayer. I will remember that show for eternity. Thank you ??
Slayer slayed at the final campaign! First and I hope its the last in the sense that they stick to their word in the last tour ever. Overall fantastic show. Weird lineup but it worked very well!
The show was legendary! I don't like ministry or primus and (I Personally) think that they suck but the rest was beyond legendary, I would say mythic. The crowed was heartwarming and and makes you feel home. Metal and metalheads are family \m/ \m/
A sad day for ???? Slayer fans - awesome show, Slayer killed MSG ????
Most expensive drink prices for a venue ever!!! Double Jack and Gingers were $33 dollars at the Forum. I saw Slayer a week earlier at the World Arena in Colorado Springs and the same drink was $14.75.
