Disclaimer, this one-star rating is just from my own experience as an autistic person. The landing page for the event didn't give a lot of info for what sort of things to expect, first of all. Next, the music was so horrendously loud that I had to shout at the top of my lungs just to have my friends barely be able to hear me. The dancefloor had good vibes, but not much for people who weren't actively dancing. Nothing meaningfully "sapphic"was done at the event, which I was hoping for. Some songs were played like All the Things She Said. But that's about it. No theming, no sapphic activities. If I wanted to go to a loud bar and drink and dance, there's plenty of places to do so that don't charge entry. I basically paid 25 bucks for an average night out at a bar.
My wife and I had a great time, a big queer dance party was exactly what I wanted from this event, and Sapphic Factory Delivered! My only critique is that I wish the DJ had mixed the music a bit more, they often played a full song even after the crowd was ready for the next thing and there was some dead time between tracks.
Love this concept and always love a safe space for queers to go, however my friends and I were excited to dance and paid for a safe space to dance. This party did not deliver. The music was mainly songs you could lightly sway to, though a lot of the artists were queer. We had about 20/30 minutes of pure dance music and it was so fun! Just wish that could have been the theme the whole time.
