Ron Artis II on Tour
Ron Artis II is an American singer/songwriter from Oahu, Hawaii. Better known by his touring band, Ron Artis II and The Truth, Ron Artis II can be seen on his international 2022 tour, making stops in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Throughout his tour, Artis? occasionally shares the spotlight with? artists such as Jack Johnson, his brother Thunderstorm Artis, Ben Harper, and Lake Street Dive. Known for dreamy and soulfully soothing rhythms and lyrics, Artis brings the feeling of serenity and peace to all of his shows. Ron Artis II released his first solo album, Love is Love, in 2019. In this tranquil and heartfelt album, Ron Artis II performs songs such as "Broken" with Dan Lebowitz, "To Dad" with The Strings of Life, and "Love is Love" with his daughter Ida Marie Artis. In 2020, Artis wrote and performed the score for John John Florence's four-part series Vela. In 2020, Artis also released his album Julia, a record of love songs dedicated to his wife Julia Artis. Ron Artis II and The Truth have released Soul Street (2018), Live at the Belly Up (2018), Purpose (2021), and their 2022 single "Who's Knocking."
Raised in a musical family in Hawaii, Artis has 11 brothers and sisters. Originally performing with his family in the Artis Family Band, he honed in on his multi-instrumental skillset, leaning toward guitar and piano. As he got older and performed around Oahu, Artis gained notoriety by receiving praise from Mick Fleetwood, Jack Johnson and Jake Shimabukuro; having performed with all these artists in the past. Artis' style ranges from soul, funk, R&B, rock and roll, and classical; depending on the album and song. Artis continues to make music solo, as well as with his band Ron Artis II and The Truth.
