by Geof on 11/29/23Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - PortsmouthI will say the man can play guitar, and he plays it well. Unfortunately he plays it WAY too loud! If I were 100 rows back in a stadium, then maybe it would have been OK. Three tables away from the stage in a place like Jimmy's Jazz and Blues club though, it was unbearably loud. Additionally, his mic was up way too loud as well. Even for a hearing compromised guy like me. My wife had to leave the room after the first song. I eventually found her in the bar on the top floor and we watched the rest of the show on the TV. As long as the doors were closed it was OK. I've been to many shows at Jimmy's but this is the first time I've experienced a loudness issue.

A Popa Chubby performance will NEVER disappoint. He is one of the best guitarists I have ever witnessed; never searching for the next phrase/lick. Can not wait until I get to see him again.
