Mike Zito is a contemporary blues guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer from St. Louis, Missouri. In 2009, he released Pearl River, which won Song of the Year at the Blues Music Awards for the title track. A string of critically acclaimed albums followed, including 2011’s Greyhound, which was nominated for Best Rock Blues Album at the Blues Music Awards, and the deeply personal Gone to Texas, which was released in 2013. From 2010 to 2014, Zito also played an integral role as co-founder of the Royal Southern Brotherhood supergroup, which features Cyril Neville, Devon Allman, Charlie Wooton and Yonrico Scott. Zito’s 2016 album Make Blues Not War debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart and earned him Rock Blues Artist of the Year at the Blues Music Awards. His 2018 album First Class Life also entered the charts at No. 1. The following year he topped the blues chart again with the release of Rock 'n' Roll: A Tribute to Chuck Berry. Starting in 2020, Zito released several albums on his own Gulf Coast Records, including Quarantine Blues (2020), Resurrection (2021) and Life is Hard (2024).
