Pittsburgh Penguins History
The Pittsburgh Penguins joined the National Hockey League for the 1967-1968 season during the League's expansion from six to 12 teams. The Penguins played at Civic Arena (nicknamed "the Igloo") until the 2009-2010 season, when they moved to PPG Paints Arena (formerly CONSOL Energy Center).
Postseason appearances have been nearly a birthright for the Penguins and their fans since the 1990-1991 season, after which they won five Stanley Cup Championships. They've won six conference championships and earned the Stanley Cup Champion title in back-to-back seasons (2016 and 2017) with coach Mike Sullivan and the great Sidney Crosby as captain at the helm.
In the 2005 NHL Draft the Penguins selected Crosby as their No. 1 pick. Dubbed “The Next One,” Crosby has spent an historic 18 seasons with the Penguins and entered the 2023-2024 at 25th on the league’s all-time scoring list.?
The franchise boasts more than a dozen former players in the NHL Hall of Fame, including Mario Lemieux, Ron Francis, Mark Recchi, Bryan Trottier, and Paul Coffey. The Penguins most recently made the playoffs in 2022. To date, they've appeared in the playoffs 37 times.

Had a really great time and great seats for the penguins last hone game of 2023-24 season. Tickets also weren't badly priced either.
The tickets were excellent, really enjoyed the venue. Enjoyed the 1000 game ceremony, a great experience
Easy-to-use and navigate through website!! Definitely will be using Ticketmaster again.
Great time great seats great price staying with ticket master
Excellent experience taking my grandson, my son and Brother-in-Law to Pittsburgh for the Bruins vs Penquins Hockey game. Wonderful experience. Seats were great.
Each year I try to attend two hockey games in PIttsburgh and while there enjoy my favourite spots--Primanti Bros, Pamela's Diner, and the strip area. It is special to be part of the GO PENS GO chants supporting the Pittsburgh Penguins during their home games. My favourite player is Sidney Crosby, an exceptional hockey player and a great Canadian!
Great seats. Lots of energy. Food ok. Bathrooms clean. Helpful ushers. Awesome time. Bummer they lost.
Not sure there is a bad seat in the place. We sat in sec 229 row 4. It was a great spot to watch the game. The fans were electric even with a loss. Only suggestion is if you drive do not park by arena. It’s a very busy spot to get out of.
The venue was nice and the staff members were super friendly. Great job taking care of your fan base as well!
Had a great time in Pittsburgh. The seats were great. The pubs were fun. The locals were all very friendly and very welcoming. Very very nice town.
The arena was nice but when I got there, there was only 1 box of the plushies they were giving away. The lady was only giving them to “kids” that were there and I told her that I wanted to give it to my niece but she said they had to be there. This was such a rude way to give away something for the first 10,000 fans when there was no mention that it was for “kids only”.
Best game we have ever been to! Lots of scoring and action and so thrilled that the Penguins won against the Lightning ???? it came down to the very last second!!
Always a great time. Staff is always very friendly.
It was our first time seeing a live hockey game. It was a real treat. The environment was fun, the staff was outstanding, and the game went in our favor. Can’t wait to come back again.
Had a fantastic time. Tickets were easy to manage and entry and visit were fantastic
The Penguins are my team, and I'm so completely starstruck each time I attend one of their games... win OR lose!! To have the opportunity to watch some of the greatest players like Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin... well, it's just momentous for me. What I didn't care for was the people who go down to the glass during warm-ups prior to the start of the game. It prevented me from being able to see my favorite players. Those people didn't have seats that close, so in my opinion, they shouldn't have been allowed there. I paid a lot of money for MY seats which were 7th row from the ice... SO THAT I COULD SEE THE PLAYERS UP CLOSE. And oh, I don't care for the new scoreboard (Jumbotron). It's just too busy, full of too much information and blocks the view from many seats. It kept me from seeing Jagr's banner.
The fan experience was awesome. Giftshop and food were great, Crosby scored, Pens won!
PPG Arena has perfected the presentation of our Penguins. Win or lose, the action is spectacular.
The arena is very nice - the staff were amazing! My friend cannot climb stairs and our entire party was permitted to enter the arena at the VIP entrance so that he would not have to walk too far to get to the elevator. I was able to change seats for 2 in our party (we were 4) as a result of them experiencing vertigo. The staff could not have been nicer in accommodating them. The usher at our original section walked us to customer service and followed up to ensure that we were looked after. Another usher offered to take pictures of us without our having to ask - outstanding customer service which also included staff working at the concession stands. Great to see Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang playing - thankful that the Rangers won. Would return to this arena. Pittsburgh is a great city!!
