Never got to see the 4-Man Floyd but, was lucky enough to see Gilmour, Mason & Wright perform once in 1988 & again in 1995. I caught both shows at the New England Patriots Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. Both shows happened around Memorial Day weekend. The icing on the cake was that, in both cases, the tickets were gifts! The '88 show was paid for by my girlfriend at the time & the '95 show tix were a Xmas gift from my Mom, who is also a Floyd Fan! I took my brother to the '95 show. Like me, my brother has been to countless concerts. Still, he said the '95 Floyd show was the best concert he'd EVER been to, despite the fact that it was only about 50 degrees out in pouring rain. Because of that, Floyd couldn't do their full stage show (ie; pyrotechnics & lasers) but, despite that, my brother stood by his "best concert ever" comment. Still, we were both somewhat disappointed that no tunes from "The Final Cur" were performed. At the very least, Gilmour could've sung "Not Now John"! While I regret never having seen the 4-Man Floyd, I'm thankful that I was able to see David Gilmours' 1985 solo tour backing the "About Face" LP as well as Roger Waters' tour the same year for "The Pros & Cons Of Hitchhiking". I cosider myself double-lucky because, the Waters show I saw (in Hartford, Conn.) was one of the few shows played with Eric Clapton! That was especially awesome, particularly when Waters did his "Best Of Floyd" set. Pink Floyd tunes are great to begin with but, to hear Clapton playing Gilmours' leads was something that really had to be seen & heard to really be appreciated. Too bad Waters never released a live LP of that tour! I'd pay serious money for a copy!
