This show was everything I hoped for and more! This was on my husband's bucket list and it did not disappoint. The only slight disappointment was our seats, we had tickets for a later showing, but it was cancelled and while our seats were still in the orchestra section, our view wasn't as wonderful as our previous seats. HOWEVER, we still enjoyed the show immensely, and were happy they rescheduled and made it a seamless transition.
It was a great musical. They did an excellent job and to think the actor that played Pan was only 17.
Peter Pan brought the magic. The flying was incredible along with excellent choreography throughout the show. The main characters were spot on with their voices and personalities. We so enjoyed the show.
Peter Pan was spellbinding. The talent of these performers was a nice and beyond especially considering the range of ages!
The child actors were amazing. Great play and only negative was some of the softer voices were hard to understand. Particularly Wendy. Sets were amazing.
I agree with a previous review stating that the show should have had a different name since it is not the original classic version. When you add a cell phone as a prop into the script it changed the dynamics for me. I thought the cast did a good job and Captain Hook was exceptional. I did not do the research so was not aware it was a more modernized Disney version so I was caught off guard after paying $225 for 2 tickets. Keep an open mind when attending. If you have grown up with the classics and like them that way without change then may not be your gig!
Disappointments: (1) one of the well-known and themed songs was not sung nor played ("You Can Fly...!") (2) too many scenes that involved Tiger Lily (this was not the case in the original cartoon/films) (3) crocodile was too small and not convincing (4) the shadow was off at times (was not in synch with Pan) (5) Tinker Bell didn't have the appeal (6) fighting scenes lacked intensity Positives: (1) Great singing (vocals) (2) actor who played Hook did a fantastic job with his accent and acting (3) child actors were fantastic (held their own)
It was a beautiful set and well down, but the target audience definitely was children. Still, it was a fun show with the flying and the sets were eye candy! Enjoyable for sure.
Such a fun show with an incredibly talented cast. They modernized some parts so be mindful of that if you’re expecting it to be the same as it was in the past. I personally liked all the changes.
Wonderful show to introduce grandsons to the world of theatre! Unfortunately, my only complaint was getting seats close to stage for their easy viewing, meant it was often much too loud for children and they had to cover their ears. And even with boosters adults sitting in front of them often blocked their view…even the adults viewing.
