Rating: 5 out of 5Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan
by SuperUppie on 4/5/13Peabody Opera House - St. LouisThis timeless classic came to life on the farewell tour of Cathy Rigby Mccoy's time as the boy who wouldn't grow up. I've seen the show with Mary Martin and Sandy Duncan. By far, THIS production is the best of the bunch. Ms. Rigby is amazing!!! Her physical performance, i.e., her gymnastics on stage are impressive. But her singing voice and her portrayal of the Pan had more depth and emotion than from the previous two Pans.
Cathy Rigby set the bar very high for the rest of the cast to keep up with her. And keep up with her they did. Each cast member was outstanding. Not a weak performance in the bunch even though two roles were played by understudies that night.
The special effects were superb. But the flying sequences were amazing!!! Some people started to leave during the curtain call to beat the traffic. It was their loss because of the special flying stunt during that curtain call.
This was a perfect night of GREAT Broadway quality entertainment. If this show comes to your city, tell your friends about it and buy tickets to this historic farewell tour. You'll feel young again.
