Great concert- loved seeing all the original members and the new singer did a good job.
The bands were to rushed. Would happily be willing to spend more, for the bands to have more time on stage. Still would be happy to attend the venue again.
This is my third Rewind Fest in a row that I've attended. It was good, but not great. My main criticism is that this year, there were too many acts. 13 is over-saturation. Too much. The concert is better when there are a smaller number of acts performing more songs each. The other Rewind Fests never had that many. Next time, please book less acts! I think nine acts is the ideal number. Wang Chung and Dramarama were the two best acts of the night. They were so energetic and passionate and performed so well. The Escape Club and A Flock of Seagulls were also quite good. The least best acts were The Vapors and Missing Persons. Both lacked energy and passion. They were, "just there", so to speak. This is my 3rd time seeing Missing Persons and unfortunately they've always been like that. Overall, I enjoyed the concert and will attend future Rewind Fests, just please don't book so many acts.
Not the same experience when the songs played by Oingo Boingo are abbreviated. A lot of down time betw sets since each group could only play 2 songs before the next group came out. Recommend less groups so that more songs can be played resulting in less down time. Seating was very comfortable but acoustics were less ideal than I anticipated. Idk if we will go to next year’s.
Beautiful Thunder Valley venue but the top artist only played 2-3 songs, disappointing! The crowd enjoyed the music and videos played by the DJ between sets!
Great show! There were several other acts, which were great, but Oingo Boingo ROCKED!! Honestly, I felt like I was 17 again. The singer who replaced Danny, Brandon is the perfect voice to add to the group. Please, please come back to Nor Cal!
We went to see the Rewind Fest 80's Live '24 show and it was awesome! The band members may be older, but they still rock like they did back in the day. Oingo Boingo closed the show with several of their hits from the 80's so that was great...
Would love to see Danny perform with them again, but Brendan McCreary can sure pick up the slack, always a fun show,I saw them as part of the I Love the 80's tour, and got 7 songs but I will go see them if they headline somewhere around my home,Still worth seeing
Oingo Boingo former members did a great job. The lead singer really had the tone down and what a performance he put on! The rest of the band rocked it as well and everyone had a good time watching them as I’m sure the band had a great time too. The most unfortunate thing is Thunder valley, the venue. This is the poorest constructed concert venue of all time. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars going to see concerts, Trying out different seats in different parts of the venue to see if that makes a difference, only to be thoroughly disappointed at the terrible sound quality. Whether you sit on the floor or up in the mezz seats, the sound is poor! Likely due to no acoustics in this place! It’s a huge square Concrete box, cheap to build on a flash with no thought whatsoever into how to properly get the sound to the back of the room or even the floor! Out of all the bands that performed at the 80s rewind, it seems like Oingo Boingo was the only one to do a sound check. The other bands seemed thrown together for the most part. The DJ that played videos had the best sound?! Any band performing live in this venue, Beware, you will need to really spend time on your soundcheck. Thunder Valley is the biggest letdown of any concert venue I have ever been to all over the world. It is a shame, but I guess for the local folk they don’t care. I’m willing to travel to go to a good venue and I will not be back to thunder Thunder Valley. I’ve been to three stages in Folsom excellent design, the crest theater from the 1930s is even better than this place! The Golden 1 Arena not bad sound at all saw the Foo Fighters and had a great time. I’ve been to some really old theaters and new ones and the big difference is acoustics and thought design behind it. A good example is Mondavi Center at UC davis. A big thumbs down and a -5 marks for this Indian casino, thunder Valley, which really is all about a money grab for them.
Last Oingo Boingo concert we’ll ever go to again! 3 geriatric bands play warm up to OB cover band. Only 2 original members left and both sit while on stage! Obviously drummer always sits but Horn player? Warm up bands play for 2+ hours and headliner plays 45 mins? I wouldn’t have paid $20 to watch this show. Such a disappointment as we’ve watched the ‘Halloween’ version for some time now. Stream the original music…you’ll save a ton of money and listen to the real thing! I guess it’s true that all good things come to an end.
