We had a wonderful time. I grew up in Oakland and was a dancer myself. I found myself in tears full of happiness to see all the beautiful dancers of different sizes and colors. I am very proud. Thank you ??
I haven't seen the Nutcracker in over 20 years and this production was outstanding! The costumes, the seats, the people working the event were all wonderful. I splurged for good seats in the Orchestra area and they were worth every penny. My girls and I will hopefully make this a tradition.
It was wonderful being able to watch a performance after so long. Covid precautions were adequate, we needed to show our vaccination cards or negative covid test to enter. I can’t say how wonderful the staff was to all of us. They especially made the kids in our party feel special and welcome. It was a welcoming and wonderful experience for us.
We saw the Oakland Ballet last Sunday at the gorgeous Paramount Theater and loved it! Everyone was in good spirits ,well dressed, especially the young girls in their pretty dresses, and enjoying their velvet seats and enchanting show. The live orchestra was excellent, an important addition to the performance and the multi-ethnic dancers were outstanding, a joy to watch. Everything was perfect, an outstanding afternoon. Unfortunately, the ballet has a very short season and there are no more performances. But, definitely put it on your calendar for next year!
For over 30 years our family has attended the Oakland Ballet Nutcracker. The Paramount Theater is rated one of the top 10 art deco theaters in the world. A sight to behold. This year's production was scaled back but definitely the best production in the Bay Area. The younger dancers had tremendous enthusiasm and the professional dancers aways deliver. A must see every year.
Saturday evening performance was beautiful! My heart was filled with joy to see the ballet dancers back doing what they do best; bring beauty and inspiration to the world!
The venue, the music, the dancing and the costumes- a magical show. The staff worked hard to make sure all Covid protocols were followed so we felt safe. The parking garage was also well handled and safe.
I have seen Luna Mexicana since it’s inception. I love the show and I really love the fact that every year they change up the program. I never get tired of seeing this program and will continue to attend every year. Great job ! Bravo ????
Could have used more decor to entice the crowd and give a better idea of what was to come in the show. Besides that the performance was amazing. A mixture of traditional and non traditional Mexican day of the dead culture. Great for the family- I brought my son and husband.
Loved the costumes, dance and energy on stage!! I will definitely recommend.
