This was my favorite show at the Fred Kavli Theatre. Really top notch actors, sets, music and direction. This really was Broadway in our backyard! Bravo!
Kids did a great job; everyone did a great job. Only thing i would change is do NOT have two actors try to talk at the same time with the same line; just the slightest of miss-timing makes understanding of the lines impossible. GREAT SHOW. High recommend.
This performance was fun, comedic, and light. Not a dull moment! The music was great and awesome for all ages. All actors were amazing--my favorite was mrs. trunchbull
I felt the tickets were pricey for the quality of the show. I paid the same price for a NY show and it was much better. The show was just ok!
Incredible show: from the decor, to the lights, to the music, to the actors!
I brought my two sons, ages 9 and 11 and they absolutely loved it. They haven’t seen many musicals but their friend who has said it was the best show he’s ever seen and wanted to see it again. The lead, Lucy Bollier, was fantastic. Loved that my children enjoyed it as much as they did. Favorite characters also was the father and the school principal. Great acting, sets and performances.
Great show and well performed. My 9 year old was mesmerized with the show.
The singing, dancing and acting in this show was incredible especially considering many of the actors were 11-12 year olds!
This is one of our favorite musicals. This one was a little darker and harder to hear but still a great show.
Very great show! My girlfriend and I had a theater date night. It was very enjoyable for all ages.
I've seen Matilda on west end so I was incredibly excited for the opportunity to see it on the US tour! The only thing that kind of got me was the accent mixing. It's supposed to be a full British accent but some of the actors had consistent mixing of accents, so I don't know if that was direction to make it understandable for Americans or not. BUTTTTTT everything was fantastic. I thought they did an amazing job with the set as it's a traveling musical and have to pack it up every weekend. The actors were phenomenal adapting to the different venue. The Matilda we saw Saturday at 2pm WAS INCREDIBLE. I love this show so much and listen to the soundtrack quite often. I'm so glad my boyfriend introduced me to Matilda :)
We weren't very impressed with the show. We love Matilda and had high expectations and were disappointed.
The only reason the show doesn't get 5 stars is that often times is was hard to understand what was being "sung" and sometimes said. The opening number was quick and words were clipped thus making it difficult to follow along. Was concerned that the entire show might be at that same pace. It did get better. Story line was different from the book/movie but that only added to the interest of what might happen next. Actors were fabulous. Trunchbull and Matilda stole the show although Lavender and Bruce Bogtrotter were also stellar. Not the fault of the show but parking was a nightmare as there were obviously other "interesting" happenings in the area.
My daughter, granddaughter and I saw the performance of Matilda on Saturday. It was absolutely fantastic! The entire cast performed incredibly. The props and stage sets were amazing! The little girl who played Matilda was perfect in the role, just adorable and so bright. We loved every moment and will remember it for years to come.
Extreme characters in a show that is funny, sad, moving and inspiring. Top notch talent on stage.
Matilda was simply awesome. The singing and acting is phenomenal. You won't be disappointed!
Took my two grandchildren and my daughter to see this. It was very hard to understand ANY of the lyrics for all of us. Having not read the Matilda books, we really didn't know what was going on in this story. Very frustrating for all four of us. Waste of time and money.
This play was very dark with many parts that were sad to my 8 year old. The volume of microphones was so loud that it was difficult to understand what was being said because everything ended up being distorted. The actors mostly had really awful pitched voices. But the Trunchbull actor was awesome and comical.
