After seeing Foreigner last year, with no original members, I wanted to see the real voice of Foreigner one more time, especially since he announced that this would be his last tour. I figured it would be nostalgia, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It was so much more. I was completely blown away by the strength of Lou's voice from the opening note. Of course, there are some notes that he couldn't hit anymore, but those were actually few and far between. I would take that any day, over bands that play with backing tracks.
From the first note, there was a sense of seeing Foreigner again. Lou and the band were simply incredible. Since I saw both Foreigner as well as Lou's All-Star band, I can make a direct comparison. I can honestly say that Lou's show was above and beyond the Foreigner show. The Foreigner show had more stage props, but Lou's show was much more intimate. You got the feeling that he was genuinely appreciative that the crowd was there. Such a humble person.
After the show, Lou and Tony Franklin (playing bass for Lou) met the fans, and signed autographs. They couldn't be more friendly and humble Just an amazing experience to meet these legends in the music business.
I highly recommend seeing Lou Gramm, especially since this is his last tour.
