Los Angeles Kings History
The Kings were founded in 1967 as part of the six-team influx that saw the NHL expand to 12 teams. There were some shining stars; Rogie Vachon was stellar goaltender, while Hall of Famer Marcel Dionne lit the lamp at a furious pace alongside his "Triple Crown" line mates Dave Taylor and Charlie Simmer. The Kings’ biggest postseason success during this time was with 1982's "Miracle on Manchester," where the Kings made the largest comeback in NHL playoff history to win 6-5 over the heavily favored Edmonton Oilers, who were led by a 21-year-old phenom named Wayne Gretzky.?
Six years later, the Kings landed The Great One. Alongside fellow stars Jari Kurri, Luc Robitaille, Rob Blake, and Kelly Hrudey, the team flirted with success for several years, ultimately losing to the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup Final in 1993.
Shortly after the turn of the century, the Kings broke through in a big way, winning the Stanley Cup Championship in 2012 and 2014 under coach Darryl Sutter.

It was an absolutely amazing experience! Great seats! All you can eat food was included.
Hockey game was awesome, great to see NHL return to Utah. For the price of the ticket though, the food could have been better.
I love hockey but rarely have the opportunity to go to an NHL game out of state so there was really great to have an NHL game here in Utah. It was only a preseason game which means it wasn't quite up to the quality of a regular season game but it was better than the semi-pro games we have to settle for here in Utah.
Exiting game between the LA Kings and the Vancouver Canucks at the Vivint arena in Salt Lake City !!! The venue was excellent in every way, the atmosphere was exiting and fun ! The fans were appreciative to have the NHL in SLC. Everyone was wearing their favorite team and players jersey. Ticketmaster made it easy to share tickets with family and friends, they updated everyone with event information weeks before the event. What a memorable event for all ! I will use Ticketmaster for all my upcoming events.....Thanks !
So the arena was clearly not built with hockey in mind. I bought tickets in the upper bowl directly behind the goal... problem is the NHL Ice is much longer than an NBA court, so the design of the bowl completely blocked everything from the boards to the top of the circles. When I bought tickets there was no mention of an obstructed view at all, and I even paid a worthless extra 10 bucks for a “premium” upper bowl ticket. Moral of the story, sit perpendicular to the ice in the upper bowl, or only see 75% of the game. Really disappointing.
As a hockey fan in general, the game was well played by both teams. The seat I had gave me a great view of the entire ice rink. I hope this can become an annual event.
It was pretty amazing if you like hockey but when you walk into a competitive environment it’s supposed to pump you up, I was ready to fall asleep. Also, the DJ sucked he had no idea what to play and when he did play music it was boring.
What a thrill to watch a live Pro Hockey game in SLC! More fun than imagined, great time was had by all. Please come back to Utah!
Watching a hockey game with my son was amazing!!! Especially here in Utah.
Everything was very well organized, nice people, great and cool audience, it was a good game, too. Simply a great event at MGM Grand Arena which keeps in very good memory. Thank you!
Had a great time at game. The MGM Garden Arena was great. Easy to enter. Short lines for food, drinks and bathrooms. Great seats and Kings won! What more could I ask for.
Game was good but we had seats in section 219 which had obstructed view of home team's net. This was not indicated on the section map provided by Ticketmaster, so we don't know whose responsibility it should have been. We would not have chosen these tickets if we had known in advance, neither would anyone sitting around us. Very disappointed.
This is always a fun atmosphere for a hockey game. This is the fourth time my kids and I have gone. Having Las Vegas as the place to spend extra time around the game is great.
Great venue, great fun, Exciting game to prepare for the season. Everyone was in a good mood. We have gone off & on since our kids were very small, great to enjoy Frozen Fury with them as adults Thank you!!
Frozen Fury has been happening in Las Vegas, NV. for the last 17 years. La Kings play against Colorado Avalanche and other team (if they up for it). This is a pre-season game that should not be missed if you love hockey. I cheer on the La Kings and have seen other people cheer for someone else. This is my 3rd year attending and I shall keep attending every year to come.
First time experience for us. Had a great time. Planning on going again next year GO KINGS
I go to watch hockey. Good game but, sat in section 216 which had no sight lines of the lower corner and goal crease to the right. I was not notified of the obstructed view when purchasing the tickets. I feel sorry for people who sat to my left who asked to pay $68 and were unable to see a quarter of the ice surface.
Watching the Kings play in Vegas was an awesome experience. The reason for the BUT is because MGM Grand did not have the right ticket scanners at the door so they made us visit their ticket office, wait in line for 20 minutes so they can hand us different tickets to get scanned. Whats the point of having everything easily accessible on our phones and ticketmaster selling us electronic tickets if MGM won't let us in using them? Very inconvenient and now I will think twice about going to any event at the MGM arena.
KINGS dominated this one. Only down side was our seats had a partially blocked view. We could not see the corner of the playing surface directly in front of us. This should have been stated during the ticket purchase process!! What gives Ticketmaster??
