What do Local Natives sound like?
If you distilled California into soundwaves and vibrations, it might resemble the sonic and spiritual interplay of the Los Angeles quintet--Taylor Rice [vocals, guitar], Kelcey Ayer [vocals, keys, percussion, guitar], Ryan Hahn [guitar, keys, mandolin, vocals], Matt Frazier [drums], and Nik Ewing [bass, keys, vocals].
Hills and valleys of six-string bliss, a coastal spray of neon keyboards, and sundrenched melodies comprise a growing catalog of entrancing and engaging anthems by the band. Based in Los Angeles, the group progressed their sound over the course of three full-length albums, Gorilla Manor [2009], Hummingbird [2013], and, most recently, Sunlit Youth [2016]. The latter received praise from Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, The Guardian and many more. In between countless sold out shows and festival appearances - including a standout Coachella 2017 set - they've graced the stages of Austin City Limits, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Late Show With James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and more.
That's what Local Natives sound like.
These guys Never disappoint! They were absolutely amazing!!
This was my first time seeing Local Natives. They played a long set, very high energy. The sound was amazing. I would see them again if I have the chance!
Local Natives was great, but our seats at The Sound weren’t the best. We were on the Left Terrace, but once the show started all these people were standing on the ramp leading to the floor right in front of us, even though the security kept telling them to keep it clear and move in. It was hard to see and not worth paying extra to sit on a bar stool that wasn’t even raised above the crowd enough to have a good view. I’d recommend the second row back of the Terrace seats, which is actually elevated above the floor, to get a good view.
This venue was way too over crowded. We had GA tickets and couldn't even get into the GA pit because of how crowded it was. When we tried to stand off the the side, security told us we couldn't stand in the "terrace"area. We ended up standing against the back wall. The lounge/bar area is bigger than the viewing area. Only one main exit (that I know of) and it was way too small for the capacity of people trying to exit at the same time. Would not recommend this venue.
What a great show Local Natives put on and the venue (Fox Theater) was absolutely stunning!!
This is the 2nd time I’ve seen the band live. This show - like the last - did not disappoint. The bands energy on stage and amazing vocals so so good. Don’t miss this tour!
Great show! Local Natives are really good musicians. I love how they all sing lead and switch things playing several instruments. Fabulous harmony and great musicianship.
My first time going to a concert at the Van Buren. It was a great experience to watch the Local Native perform. And what a great performance ????????.
They are a really special group of musicians - not only do they write spectacular songs, they are great performers.
The concert was great. It sounded amazing which is surprising because the Van Buren has a reputation for poor mixing. Come back soon!
