Had not had the opportunity to see Last Train Home before this trip to the Birchmere. I will not miss the group again if I can help it. I listen to a lot of different music and this was just a great, very talented band with a great playlist and their lead man Eric Brace was at ease interacting with the crowd. Birchmere is a great venue to see any band but this was a special night.
Saw the band at rams head Friday night and birchmere Saturday night - what a pleasure, so thankful this band keeps putting out great music and performing! Eric Brace is a gem of a songwriter. All the guys in the band - masters of their crafts. Loved it. Can’t wait til next year.
Fantasitc fun at the Birchmer with Eric and the band They were tight as always, so the sounds were great, and Eric was his usual ebullient infectious self, making for a wonderful night of music and fun at the perfect venue for the band and fans. Can't wait for the next one.
Last Train Home delivered a wonderful mix of old and new to an appreciative audience. With only the very capable drummer a replacement for the original lineup, the familiar arrangements were delivered with an appropriate mix of discipline and improvisation. New material was up to the band’s high standards. Vocal harmonies were excellent as you’d expect from members that had played and sung together for decades. A nice touch was the appearance of young local talent Samantha Collings on drums for two numbers after hearing of her childhood experience with band 20 years ago. I’m already looking to my next chance to visit with this talented ensemble .
Eric’s voice is in great form. The band is sooo talented. It felt like the late 90s for a few hours! Glad to see it sold out. The band deserves it.
The Birchmere provided excellent sound and a stage large enough for all nine of the talented members of Last Train Home. They played a few new songs from recent releases, but real treat was having the crowd along for all the songs everyone remembers from Iota. A great time.
We travel every year from Philadelphia to see this band in the Washington area, and they never disappoint.
I don't know how the concert was because I didn't go. I didn't feel safe being in a crowded indoor space with the omicon variant surging in DC. Honestly, I'm vey disappointed that the Birchmere or LTH didn't cancel or postpone the show. I wish shows would require a negative rapid test result for all people attending, in addition to proof of vaccination.
Last Train Home have always been one of my favorite bands. I have seen them many times over the years. They always give a good show. It is nice to reminisce with a local band, especially with all the changes over the years. You can literally say “I remember when……” Rock On!
