Doreen Ketchens was a phenomenal artist! She is a must see performer! KJO and Doreen were outstanding. There are not enough words to describe how romantic, and emotional the evening was. We will miss Mr. Huff.
We enjoyed the performance. Veronica Swift has an incredible voice and the KSO Jazz orchestra was very good. A few more jazz standards and a little less rock inspired songs would have been nice. But all in all in was a very enjoyable evening.
The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra’s “Swingin’ Christmas” was an evening of entertainment featuring incredible musicians! Even when the guest artist couldn’t make it because of weather, the KJO never skipped a beat! Incredible entertainment, and the perfect musical prelude to Christmas! We look forward to this concert every year, knowing it is always fabulous and enjoyable. Thank you, Vance Thompson, for leading this stellar group!

Largely playing the music and arrangements of Thad Jones, the KJO presented a terrific performance in their own right and a wonderful platform for the guest soloist, Emmet Cohen to take off and fly to dizzying heights. Other standards performed, Round Midnight and If I should Lose You by Emmet in a smaller combo were highlights of the evening where there was more room for exploration and expression. Overall, a brilliant and inspiring show.
Wow! I had a great time! There is no doubt that all in attendance were inspired by the performers and musicians, and the overall experience was entertaining!
KJO is an amazing band of talented big hearted musicians. The showcase of local extremely talented vocalists for this "divas next door" show was a huge success in my opinion. Sam Adams did a great job arranging 13 special songs and directing the whole thing. So much talent and love on Bijou stage!
I LOVE THIS THEATER! It is the perfect intimate entertainment venue. There is not a bad seat in the house. You can always hear the performances well, without being too loud. It can be a bit crowded in the small entryway, if you wait until the last minute to arrive. The staff is always cheerfully standing by to assist you with locating your seats. I have seen comedy, pop and jazz there. Also, the performances are reasonably priced. I feel like I get my money's worth when I attend a performance here. My wife and I look forward to attending many more in the future. Highly Recommended!
We loved the music and warmth of the performers! The musicians and singers were very talented.
We have seen The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra several times. Consider this one the best yet.
